Build Overview

This build guide assumes you are in maps, if you are not, click here for the leveling guide

Update: Pounce is extremely good with Mark for Death II to break armour or you can use Convalescence instead for defense

I think cold djinn is entirely unworth it with the new buffs unless there is a new tech with ward skills or something, so that tree is not optimized as much as it could be since i am not playing it, so you should swap some nodes around for archon effect.

Build slightly nerfed: Damage for Kelari's Deception is capped to 300% more with susbsequent casts, so far it feels pretty much the same to me.

This build essentially becomes a 1 button build with no archon cooldown once you get Dominion (contempt, suffering, isolation, ancient emotions do not work) anoint and you can just keep spamming Kelari's Deception and kelaris brutality to keep up crit weakness

Massive Buffs for 0.5:

  • Fixed a bug that caused the minion damage bonus against non-unique enemies introduced in version 0.3 to function incorrectly. Depending on specific circumstances, this will result in very little change to early minion damage, approximately 25-35% more late-game minion damage against non-unique enemies, and approximately 20-25% more late-game minion damage against unique enemies. This bonus is also no longer factored into the damage numbers displayed for skills of your minions.


  • Breach tree jewelry can add minion damage mods


  • This build is largely unaffected by the Energy Shield nerfs compared to other builds due to the The Fourth Teaching ascendancy node / Navira's Well It will be one of the few ascendancies that energy shield will still be very OP early


  • All Command Skills now have a 50% movement speed penalty during skill use (previously 70%).


  • New nodes on the tree with a buff called puppet master - grants 10% skill speed with command, 10% reduced movement speed penalty, 10% increased, minions 2% movespeed, and minions 3% skill speed PER STACK???


  • New archon of undeath node - 25% MORE minion damage, 200% MORE cooldown recovery rate for command skills


  • More minion command cooldown nodes on the tree


  • Dominion (secret anoint) can be used for permanent archon

What is the difference between djinns?:

Kelari, the Tainted Sands is by far the best one, having the best DPS and utility applying critical weakness on enemies, AND it is still decent at clearing packs.


Ruzhan, the Blazing Sword is the second best, Ruzhan's Trap is very nice for supplemental clear and DPS. It can also be used to keep perma 6 stacks on puppet master and trigger undead archon with ruzhans brand


Navira's Fracturing is the worst but still good it just requires a 3 button piano combo between Frost Bomb, picking up remnants, Ice Nova and Navira's Fracturing which is probably annoying for most people, but satisfying screen wide pops. I don't think it is better in clear speed than the other 2 despite being screen wide AoE due to how long the combo takes to cast. Some people mention using a cold quill crab spectre to automatically apply chilled ground but I didn't have much success with that, maybe there is a secret tech.



Misc Info:

You can disenchant your spectre gem to get a base version back and not waste it.

You can swap to CI around 6k ES

You get additional sockets for your djinns by leveling up - levels that grant additional sockets are 40, 65, and 90.

Cold, fire, phys levels on wands / staffs do not level up your djinns

You can use ruzhans brand to have perma 6 stacks puppet master

Get 1 of each minion type for Muster then any extra spirit can be for getting more spectres. Once you have 1 of each you can either dump the rest into spectres or get Wolf Pack with Infernal Legion II / Amanamu's Tithe for perma 3 abyss mods

FAQ:

Q: There's too many gems A: Take the less important ones out

Q: is there a filter A: no just use filterblade

Q: how to fix mana problems? A: press your mana flask or stop holding down your mouse button and just click, holding it down costs more mana than the times it actually casts.

Q: what dmg stats work? A: Any minion stats work, spell / atk damage on yourself does not work, but cast speed does. I dont think getting cast speed is worth tho

Q: when should i start using Dominion A: when you can afford it

Q: My djinn cooldowns are not decreasing when i have archon for a few seconds A: there is a bug where if you keep casting it at 0 charges left it doesnt give you the cooldown recovery

Q: Where to get quality? A: you dont or Dialla's Desire

Modifier Priority:

Get resistance / attributes / rarity wherever you can.

Sceptre: +minion levels > spirit > ally damage bonuses. For basetype you can go any purity of lightning/cold/fire sceptre or Rattling Sceptre. If you use a purity sceptre then you can use Upwelling II / Clarity II / Cool Headed / Strong Hearted / Warm Blooded in the sceptre for no spirit cost. Socket Primate Idol when you have Dominion otherwise socket Rune of Renown

Shield: Defences > Block chance

Helmet: % ES and flat ES > +minion levels

Body armour: % ES and flat ES > Spirit

Gloves: % ES and flat ES

Boots: Movement speed > %ES and flat ES

Ring: Evergrasping Ring is very good for cheap dmg, can wear 2 for gigadam or go for Ventor's Gamble eventually. Rare rings for rarity/res early

Belt: Rare

Jewel: ES % / recharge / any minion damage

Amulet: Anoint: End game is Dominion (contempt, suffering, isolation, ancient emotions do not work) anoint and you can just keep spamming Kelari's Deception and kelaris brutality to keep up crit weakness, early can be Warlord Leader, can do Long Distance Relationship early for extra AoE, or Mental Perseverance for some extra defense. Mods: +minion skills > spirit

OPTIONAL: for a pretty decent damage boost you can add another button to your build with a weapon swap to a chime staff for Sigil of Power, place this down before a boss fight for extra dps. Make sure you weapon swap back to set 1 afterwards.

SPECTRE: Powered Zealot that casts spark from Etched Ravine in the 3rd interlude, it should cost 55 spirit if it casts spark. You can disenchant your spectre gem to get a base version back and not waste it.

You can use Skeletal Arsonist ability to trigger archon if your other cooldowns are too slow, dont aim at your minions

Minion count: 2 spectres, 1 skeleton each (however many you can fit)

Clear with Kelari, the Tainted Sands / Ruzhan, the Blazing Sword

If you want better CD for Kelari, the Tainted Sands you can use Bidding III

Use Navira's Well for recovery

Unfortunately for weapon swapping you cannot set the djinns to a specific set so you'll have to swap back manually for max efficiency, or you can just set frost bomb to be on set 1 and cast Elemental Weakness first then Frost Bomb to swap back.
