With 0.5 a whole new Atlas Tree was added into the game! This offers you a permanent progression as you experience the Endgame and follow the different Questlines!
In this guide, we will go over the pathing I took through it, focusing on picking up all Essence related modifiers to earn passive income while finishing the main storyline. This is a great setup for anyone whether they are new or experienced as it adds minimal time to every Map you do while offering a solid income.

To earn Passive Points on the Atlas Tree, you must follow Doryani's Questline, first going to a Precursor Tower which will then spawn the Fortress. While completing Maps inside of the Fort, you will earn Passive Points that can be spent on the Atlas Tree.
Note - Your choices here are permanent and cannot be re-speced. While you will eventually unlock the full thing, you can't change your mind on specific nodes. The only exception are the Keystone choice nodes which can be swapped at any time in your Hideout.
In total there 311 Points that are earnable with each Map offering 1 while some of the Main Quests will give more.
Once you defeat the main Pinnacle Boss of the Story, you will be able to Zap one of the sections in the Fort. This will auto-complete all Maps in that area, giving you a large chunk of Passive Points all at once.
This then offers you the option to either do all Maps manually or to fight the Pinnacle Boss multiple times as a fast-track method.
