PoE 2: Blind Explained

Overview

Blind, or being Blinded, is a Debuff that lowers Evasion and Accuracy in Path of Exile 2.

Basic Mechanics

What is Blind?

Blind is a Debuff that lessens a target's Accuracy Rating and Evasion Rating by 20%.

Accuracy Rating is used in part to calculate the chance to Hit with Attacks, and therefore a Blinded target is less likely to succeed this Hit check, making Evasion more valuable as a defence against the target. Meanwhile, Evasion Rating is also used in the Hit chance calculation, therefore a Blinded target is also less likely to Evade incoming Attacks.

Tip: check out our guides on Accuracy and Evasion to learn about the chance to Hit calculation!

Chance to Blind

Blind can be inflicted on a target by a Hit, but it can also be inflicted by Aura effects or Area effects. Hits cannot inflict Blind by default. A modifier needs to enable Blind, for example the Blind I Support Gem, or the Blinding Strike Notable on the Passive Skill Tree.

Aura effects such as the one on Sandstorm Visage will Blind any Monsters that enter your Presence radius, and those Monster will remain Blinded while they remain in your Presence.

Monsters that carry the Shroud Walker Monster modifier will leave behind Smoke Clouds that inflict Blind on you when you enter them.

Duration of Blind

The base Duration of the Blinded Debuff is 4 seconds by default, but some effects such as the Aura on Sandstorm Visage will instead create a persistent Debuff on Monsters in range.

Blind Effect Scaling

The Debuff imposed by Blind can be scaled with modifiers to Blind Effect, such as Pocket Sand. A character with this Notable allocated would have 50% increased Blind Effect, and therefore their inflicted Blinded Debuffs on Monsters would lessen Accuracy Rating and Evasion Rating by 30%.

Interactions

The Pandemonius

The Pandemonius is a Unique Amulet which guarantees Blind on targets that you Hit while they're Chilled.

Note: Blind inflicted by unspecified sources always last for 4 seconds by default.
