I went to try gemling because the new qualities it provies and oh my does it have some juicy tech!
How it works:
Gemling's 
Advanced Thaumaturgy gives Hammer of the Gods an amazing quality: x% chance not to consume glory - with enough quality you can get this over 85%, then add another 15% from a passive named 
Everlasting Glory and boom, 100% not to consume glory!
Infinite hammer time!
How do we generate glory?
Glory is kind of annoying to get with hammer of the gods, you need to stun a target which is clunky so it doesnt work, to fix this we use a support gem Zerphi's Infamy, this allows you to spam other skills that cost life to generate glory.
Once you generated your glory you can spam the hammers the entire map/boss fight.
To generate glory quickly I use a curse 
Elemental Weakness supported by lifetap
Simply spam Elemental Weakness a few times and your glory will be full and ready to use.
Defensives we mostly rely on Wind Dancer - with the new gemling quality it gets absolutely insane cold damage from Embitter & Cold Attunement in combination with 
Polcirkeln which shatters entire screens.
Undying Hate (amanamu) ANY seed number works - you want to place this near 
Blood Magic which turns bloodmagic into a very strong defensive 
Sacrifice of Flesh.
Basically, you get hit? Everything dies.
How to get quality?
23% CORRUPTION on your hammer of the gods
- Fox Idol in Body Armour for 5% quality (or 9% if you put it in darkness enthroned as body armour).
6% quality you get from your ascendancy points.
- Unique chest: 
Loreweave with enemies chilled by your hits can be shattered as though frozen (you dont need Polcirkeln if you get this chest, opening up a ring slot!)
If you also put 
Fox Idol on it then you wont even need Everlasting Glory.
- Neck Desecration: 5% quality
- Annoint: Ferocity, Isolation, Despair 5% quality (expensive and not needed!)
Stat focus: You want as much "+ skills", "phys damage", "attack speed", "strength".
Companion for "Haste Aura":
Use 
Tame Beast to capture any FAST beast such as Rhoa, Mosquito etc!
Once captures it turns into 
Companion: {0} find any fast beast that has HASTE AURA!

DISCLAIMER:
I recommend get around a 700 PDPS 2-hander mace with +3 skills (will cost around 3d with skills and 1d without).
PS: you do not need 100% chance to not consume glory, you can refill glory for the hammers with cursing Elemental Weakness again very quickly - just be sure to have a lot of cost multiplier supports and it will take 2-3 curses to spam hammers again.
To make your Hammer of the Gods 23% quality you have to corrupt it
Be sure to first perfect jeweler orb & quality it up to 20% first and then slam some vaal orbs till you hit it.
I got mine on my 2nd try but it can take a lot more attempts.
