Build Overview

0.5 - Earthquake Buffed!

Hey guys, Mo here and right to the point.

This league, going to start with Smith Of Kitava (SOK) which I'm really excited about. Since I've played Fissure / Earthshatter since release I've decided to switch it up and bit with a SOK Earthquake (EQ) build, thanks to the buff.

Why Earthquake?

I've always been a big fan of EQ since POE 1 when it was THE melee skill, long time ago (like 2017, cospri's double dip EQ bleed / poison lol).

In POE 2, EQ is in a rough spot with a base 4 second Aftershock trigger. As a primary clear / dmg skill it does bring some benefits, the big one being the ability to get some decent bleed damage consistently, where Earthshatter can't really get good bleed damage due to its mechanics. With that said, Bleed wasn't a primary focus before league start but after getting to T16s and the endgame, IM ALL IN ON BLEED NOW!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • SOK very tanky
  • SSF Friendly and Ease of Building
  • Can scale extremely well in Trade league
  • Good but not great damage
  • Sastiyfing Bleed Playstyle
  • Meh clear
  • Earthquake inherently clunky
  • Slow (warrior lol)

Build Variants

This is my current setup which I'm constantly making minor adjustments to. As of now, this is my favorite Earthquake playstyle, going all in on bleed.

How it Plays

Unfortunately Earthquake is clunky. With Overabundance I , we have a 2 second Aftershock delay which is fine with me. You can reduce it further with passive points on the tree and Compressed Duration II but I rather use those resources for damage.

Due to a 2 second delay, you will have to "aim" your Earthquake. What I mean by this is that you want to have your mouse to the side of your enemies during bosses to maximize your damage.

From there, drop Shockwave Totem for extra damage and Incision stacks so you can reliably get bleed up. I use Rolling Slam for heavy stun windows instead of Supercharged Slam or Hammer of the Gods.

For Warcries, use Infernal Cry and let Echoing Cry empower all your attacks. Make sure to move around to get it back up, which naturally happens over time while mapping / bossing. Seismic Cry for heavy stun windows.

Use Leap Slam and Boneshatter while mapping since it provides great clear.
