Build Overview

Lexd's Oracle Shield Druid for Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids

Most of this build is theoretical at the moment, but as a Shield Warrior main I think that Shield Druid should not be a hard pivot, and I am mostly interested in trying out the new ascendancy just to see how strong we can crank this build up. Follow along for copious updates!

Shield Druid Build Summary

The idea is to, as I did with a Titan Warrior last league, is to use Shield Wall and Fortifying Cry to wipe both monsters and bosses quickly and safely, since this combo has been proven to deal a TON of damage in the previous league, and we can build quite tanky through stats, gear, and the fact that we are often Active Blocking with Resonating Shield.

However we don't have the full information revealed for the next patch so some of the skills used may be up to changing here.

Strengths and Weaknesses

VERY strong boss-killing damage and stun buildup
Tanky, through stats and on the account of being able to clear while Active Blocking
As before, super budget-friendly (I didn't run any uniques last league!)

Mace Strike is still going to be one of your highest forms of single-target DPS and a great way to queue things up for Boneshatters while clearing, so you want to make sure you have a good one-handed mace first and foremost.

Second, a good talisman for our Bear abilities, namely Furious Slam, which can both deal a lot of damage throughout this Act as well as heavy stun bosses quickly (if need be, sometimes you can just mace strike them til they are primed for a Boneshatter)

Third, we want a good Shield if possible, to help with our Resonating Shield damage when we get it later in Act 1, and if you happen to go Magma Barrier this can help out with its damage as well (though if you want more pure damage, I would choose Savage Fury and stay in Bear Form while a boss is heavy stunned)
