Build Overview

Welcome to MrRonit's Poisonburst Arrow Pathfinder build for Patch 0.4

Pathfinder got a huge range of buffs for the ascendancy and for all bow lovers this will be one of the strongest ascendancies come next patch!

This is one of those amazing league-starters that will take you from level 1 all the way to T16 maps and T3 pinnacle bosses with ease!

We utilise poison damage and scale it in a multitude of ways to clear maps by spreading tonnes of poison and causing blood explosions through Herald of Blood!

Through Gas Arrow and Toxic Growth we can nuke bosses down - and then with the addition of Stormcaller Arrow and Voltaic Mark we can debuff bosses with a crazy juiced up version of shock that makes bosses take 100% more poison damage!

Down below are the variants of the build

1) Endgame setup

2) Levelling setups (Act 1 to early maps) - will add this on soon

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Insane map clearing speed
  • Nukes bosses by scaling huge poison damage
  • Not affected by temporal chains or chilled ground modifiers
  • As this is one of the meta builds this season this may become expensive towards the higher end

Spirit requirements

You only need 30 additional spirit to make the build work so look for +30 on your amulet or your chest piece

1) Bow - You want to use either an Obliterator Bow for maximum physical damage or Gemini Bow for a little better clear with the additional arrow which will be a good cheaper alternative this season. Warmonger Bow is also a budget alternative. Socket with Talisman of Thruldana for more poison and Greater Iron Rune

2) Quiver - you want a Visceral Quiver. Flat physical damage, increased damage with bow skills and projectile skills level is important here.

3) Rings - Leech is mandatory to help with mana issues during bossing

4) Amulet - Projectile skills level, global defences and spirit

5) Helmet - pure energy shield to take advantage of Subterfuge Mask.

6) Chest piece - evasion/ES hybrid

7) Gloves - evasion/ES hybrid with physical damage, critical damage bonus, resists, stats. For high end budgets look for 100% increased effect of socketed items with Courtesan Mannan's Rune of Cruelty x2 (corrupted double socket) so you can get 60% increased poison magnitude otherwise you can also use The Greatwolf's Rune of Claws in budget setups

8) Belt -

Headhunter is always a great option for mapping

Ryslatha's Coil is a great budget alternative which boosts physical damage. Or you can use a normal rare belt with resistances, maximum life, stats.

Weapon Sets

Weapon sets are extremely important - we assign Stormcaller Arrow to weapon set 1 and use the above skill tree points in red to juice up our shock duration, shock magnitude from 20% extra damage to 100% extra damage!!

Every other skill you want to assign to weapon set 2 so that it can take advantage of the normal poison skill tree

How it Plays

Mapping

1) We use just Poisonburst Arrow

Bossing

1) Use Stormcaller Arrow which will detonate in 1.5s to apply shock

2) Use Voltaic Mark to juice up the shock and last for 30s - enough to kill any boss

3) Use Gas Arrow and then spam Toxic Growth repeatedly to do huge damage

How it Works

Scaling Poison Damage

In PoE2 the initial magnitude of the poison is calculated using adding flat physical damage + flat chaos damage and then certain modifiers will make the poison DPS better

1) Physical damage is goated as explained above

2) Poison or ailment magnitude are also amazing stats to look for

3) Increased damage with bow skills

4) In PoE2 critical hit chance and critical damage bonus apply to the poison scaling

5) Attack damage, projectile damage also scales poison

6) Shock (and shock magnitude) scales poison damage

Stats to Avoid

1) Fire/Lightning/Cold Damage - these do not scale poison damage UNLESS you are using Plaguefinger

2) Attack speed - looks visually good to fire faster arrows but doesn't speed up poison damage

3) Chance to poison - not needed as our skills 100% poison anyways!
