Build Variants
This is a (largely) one-button build relying on
Entangle for damage and triggering
Cast on Critical, which in turn spawns both
Thunderstorm and
Thrashing Vines so we don't actually have to cast them by ourselves. These trigger constantly due to the oracle ascendency nodes.
We're transforming all of our mana costs into life cost, and use
The Covenant for leech. Since we'll be dipping to near 0 life when we cast, we're instead using
Eldritch Battery and
Mind Over Matter to use mana as defence. And while stacking mana, we can utilize several damage multipliers such as
Archmage and
Arcane Intensity.
The only requirement to play this build is that you get at least 170 spirit (slightly more if you don't have Dialla's Desire or 23 % quality gems). There are a bunch of ways to solve this, see 'Gearing' for these.

Mandatory: You need leech on your
The Covenant
Ideal:
-For your
Rathpith Globe, look for one with corruption that adds increased damage & crit chance per 100 maximum mana.
-For your
The Vertex (equipment), look for one with +4 skills.
Other than that, prio maximum mana for
Archmage and survivability.
Solving 170 Spirit:
In terms of getting enough spirit, the best options are as followed:
1.
The Vertex (equipment) spirit corrupt and spirit on your amulet (expensive).
2.
Against the Darkness with + spirit. You then grab as many nodes as you need around the
Resonance cluster. (medium expensive).
3. Spirit corrupt on a regular energy shield helmet + spirit on amulet (cheap).
4. Use a sceptre like
Palm of the Dreamer (great for clear) or
Sacred Flame (good for damage). This is a solid option, but I recommend 3).
5. Grab spirit on your amulet and a
Grip of Kulemak with +25 spirit when you have +200 int. This is a great option but you need good mods like several 'Gain as extra damage'. The price on these fluctuates a lot but can be worth checking out.
6.
Alpha's Howl. Dogshit helmet but solves the spirit instantly.

How it Works
We rely on
Entangle,
Thrashing Vines and Accelerated Growth II to deal damage. These skills deal more damage when overgrown, which is why we spawn
Thunderstorm via
Cast on Critical.
Other than that, we're mana stacking for both damage and defence via
Mind Over Matter. To sustain our costs, we utilize spell leech via
The Covenant - which is the only mandatory item to get the build to work.
