Build Overview

High Damage, one button Amazon build using Nova Projectiles to turn Falling Thunder into an exceptional map clear build with exceptional single target.

Leveling

This is not playable off the beach, as it requires a unique chest armour. To level there are two options:

1) Bow Enjoyer LA Amazon. I'd recommend most people follow this as the respec will be less intrusive later, and Fub has an excellent progression guide as far as you would like to take it: https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/builds/fubgun-deadeye-leveling

2) Grenades Amazon. This is what I plan on leveling as since I don't love Bows. I'd recommend GuyThatDies' excellent guide: https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/8bf106da-d9ad-4ce6-8428-c3dcd05e3523/builds/2f8015df-4c9b-4e35-9b89-a1c77dc224f2

Transition to Nova Falling Thunder

Once you have Voll's Protector you can swap over, the gear requirements aren't too wild. I'm planning on making the switch around level 80.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Excellent Clear
  • High Damage
  • Deterministic Weapon Crafting
  • Rapid Power or Endurance Charge Generation From Movement Skill
  • Attack based skill pathing is weird, takes getting used to
  • Need to get through campaign as something else

Equipment Priority

Your priorities are taking advantage of Stalking Panther above all else.

Hat

Maximize Evasion as much as possible, and consider an additional Deflection roll suffix. If you are just getting started you can grab a magic Freebooter Cap with T1 flat evasion and Greater Essence of Enhancement on it which will give you a roughly 1000+ Evasion starter hat.

Boots and Gloves

You want hybrid bases here as flat Energy Shield is in short supply. Voll's Protector was buffed this patch and provides about 100 more flat ES, but your main source of it will come from your boots and gloves. Just like with the hat you can grab a magic Freebooter Cap and Greater Essence of Enhancement for a pretty solid starter kit.

Jewellery

Life, Res, and at least ONE T2+ mana roll to support your Whirling Slash mana costs. You'll also want one life leech node somewhere on your gear. Your rings (or gloves) are a great place to have it. Flat damage is also welcome once you start min-maxing your setup.

Spear

You want two affixes on your Spear. T2+ Critical Strike Chance and T2+ Attack Speed. The only other mod that is nice to have is Life Gain on Hit. This is just a critical strike generator.

Quarterstaff

Big damage. Lightning is first priority. You can deterministically craft a very good GG quarterstaff, I'll link the video here.

Supports are ordered in priority from left to right. In general you want to prioritize critical strike chance on your main hand Whirling Slash and Herald of Thunder over all else. This is the engine that drives your Power Charge generation.

Skill Order

Whirling Slash for a while, then Falling Thunder

More Damage Options

1) Consider taking the recently buffed Garukhan's Resolve as a full time support in Falling Thunder. Once you are around 50% crit chance without Pinpoint Critical you can stop investing in it. Garukhan's Resolve will be absurdly expensive this patch though, treat this as an endgame upgrade.

2) You can remove Nova Projectiles for bosses if you aren't doing enough damage, trade it for Fist of War II or Elemental Armament II or Rakiata's Flow

3) Charged Staff works fine with this build, however it's an extra button and will periodically want to consume your Power Charges.

More Spirit Options

If you find yourself with extra Spirit, Charge Regulation is probably the next best aura to run. With nothing else it can provide 27% more Critical Strike Chance up virtually all the time. If you have another 30 Spirit, Combat Frenzy is a good option to boost your movement speed when combined with Charge Regulation.

You can also go Blasphemy + Temporal Chains for more durability.
