Build Overview

Alright, we're the biggest, meatiest character model, we spin with Whirling Assault and we're a Smith of Kitava. Hence the name. Any correlation with anything else is your fault not mine.

I was mostly building something that could hit the entirety of a temple room at once where I could still somewhat see what was going on, and also that wouldn't die to things like poison, ignited ground or other nonsense found everywhere this league, so we're a smith now, Heatproofing is amazing.

If you're on a budget, don't worry. In the gear and skills sections I'll talk about some budget options to replace really expensive lineage supports, or to cover some gearing options to get this up and running on a lower budget (Making sure you freeze with a 20k whirly, that sort of jazz)

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • You spin me right round.
  • High EHP. With Phys to Fire Conversion
  • Freaky Tempest Bell tech, what's Skill Limit anyway
  • Heatproofing
  • The Whirling Assault she tells you not to worry about.
  • Infernal Cry for every attack
  • Off screen clear with Staggering Palm
  • You have to press more than one button for bossing, if you want... You can just spin, it's longer though.
  • No Titan prison pocket
  • Movement speed isn't great (+53% at 100)

Build Variants

It's YUGE.

Item Priorities

Weapon 1 Tawhoan Greatclub

It needs to be that type of club, get it with sockets for Greater Rune of Alacrity. It'll make your shouts effect more meat spins.

Weapon 2 Dreaming Quarterstaff

Optimal base for the build, we have no need for crit and this pushes all that level weighting into raw phys damage. You want this on Set 2 for Rigwald's Ferocity

Helmet The Vertex (equipment)

Unclear on gear setup, but get it vaal corrupted with + All Skills, try to get one that still has the Chaos Res, and has Equipment has no Attribute Requirements

Budget Options

Astramentis It's great, it'll satisfy all your skill requirements and if you slap a Jack of all Trades anoint on there it'll give you a spicy DPS boost too, something to consider if you can't find/afford a +3.

Sine Aequo, are amazing gloves for getting you freezing quickly and proccing that Herald of Ice, should be considered along with the Freeze support gem in Whirling Assault if you're having issues freezing (This combo will get it working with 20k DPS on the Whirling Assault tooltip)

Imperial Greathelm grab one with high armour, resistances, strength... Armour as... Ele/Chaos. - Something in budget that keeps you in the fight

Skill Swaps (Optional)

Whirling Assault (Whirling Assault)

  1. Elemental Armament II < Freeze - Can help if doing content with Ailment Immunity and damage is low
  2. Elemental Armament II < Magnified Area II - If you want to have the biggest whirly you can do this.
  3. Elemental Armament II < Life Leech III - Good if you're running a LIGHT RADIUS setup for quick temple energy as it'd be expected to swap rings to Gifts from Above thus removing your leech on rings.
  4. Whirling Assault, Elemental Armament II < Dialla's Desire
    Berserk, Dialla's Desire < Uhtred's Exodus
Mantra of Destruction, Uhtred's Exodus < Uhtred's Omen + Chaos Mastery
    - It gets you the 40 Whirling Assault (It's a DPS loss but it looks cool)

Jewels Optionality

Prism of Belief

An expensive stretch item but +3 Whirling Assault is really really good. Not necessary, but funny for big whirly.

Megalomaniac

Not necessary either, but if you can get one with some melee strike range on (Unerring Impact, Reaching Strike or Adaptable Assault under condition can all give this) is nice for bigger whirly. Some sort of damage or leech based secondary to this would be good.

Budget Options

Can swap them for any Rubies/Emeralds that increase damage, rage, or really whatever other stat is on the build as you see fit.

How it Plays

Mapping

  1. Whirling Assault
  2. Throw in Infernal Cry and Staggering Palm and Tempest Bell whenever you want

Bossing

  1. Hand of Chayula
  2. Infernal Cry
  3. 2x Whirling Assault
  4. Mantra of Destruction
  5. 2x Tempest Bell
  6. 3x Whirling Assault
  7. Repeat, add in Mantra of Destruction if you want

How it Works

Tempest Bell

So the funky tech in here is the bell, by using Zerphi's Infamy we convert the bell to be Glory based, as a smith we can get a shed load of Glory gen from our ascendancies, as well as being naturally placed for Blood Magic and a high leech based build.

Zerphi's Infamy removes the skill limit, allowing us to double bell with just Delayed Gratification, giving us the rest of the slots to boost the damage to acceptable levels.
