Build Overview

Hey guys, KallTorak here! I'm an Off-Meta creator with an affinity for silly goose time builds! This is my Wind Dancer Gemling build for end game.

For years now monsters in ARPGs have gotten too used to the idea of hitting us with no repercussion. Wind Dancer Gemling is a really fun playstyle where you take damage to deal damage! Gemling makes this build viable with Advanced Thaumaturgy which dramatically increases the damage of wind dancer via quality. It scales off of your attack damage, weapon damage, melee, & attack skills, so you can get its damage very high to handle most clear! For Rite of the Nameless its very good at afking all the of fodder minions. Add on Magma Barrier and Chernobog's Pillar and we are both very tanky but doing lots of damage. For single target we use Hammer of the Gods since we get infinite uses thanks to Advanced Thaumaturgy.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Amazing aoe! Using Herald of Ice with Wind Dancer will clear the entire screen for you. Infernal Cry will amp your aoe and make the corpse explosions do even more damage.
  • Advanced Thaumaturgy makes this build so amazing on gemling. Increased damage on Wind Dancer, increased maximum block from Magma Barrier, and infinite Hammer of the Gods is so fun.
  • Very tanky with the combination of 69% block and Essence of Virtue. Gem Studded makes is crit immune as well.
  • Gets expensive when you start min maxing it. Reaching gem level 40 for wind dancer isnt cheap!
  • Loreweave are annoying to craft and finding a perfect one for the build can be a pain.
  • Wind Dancer cant solo bosses so you are forced to use some skill for boss dps.

Build Variants

To get Polcirkeln to work with Herald of Ice & Wind Dancer during the campaign you will need multiple things. First make sure to get as much gain damage as extra damage as possible when you can. Try and level with a grip of kulemak that has two souces of gain damage as extra damage. Also get a heart of the well with two sources of gain damage as extra. Embitter will convert that damage to cold for wind dancer giving you the chill you need to trigger Herald of Ice. If your are not triggering herald of ice with Wind Dancer you need more damage. This will start to feel better in act 3 when you get Constricting Command.

Valuable Starting Items

Polcirkeln - Needed to trigger herald of ice with wind dancer during the campaign. We eventually replace this ring with Loreweave which can get the shatter effect on it. Stats really dont matter for the ring.

Enfolding Dawn - We just need spirit for all our spirit gems. Wind Dancer, Magma Barrier, & Herald of Ice are all really nice when leveling.

Grip of Kulemak - Get one with two instances of gain damage as extra damage. Could be fire, cold, or lightning doesn't matter. Just get yourself gain damage. Get yourself two if you want.

Rare Mace - Wind Dancer scales off of your weapon and gem levels! Early on though it scales way more off of gem levels than it does off of weapon damage. Prio gem levels over damage. Make sure you are getting as many melee or attack skills on your mace as possible then get as much hit damage as possible.

Wind Dancer should handle most of the clear. Just stand there or use Raise Shield to block and everything around you should die.

Mace Strike for single target. I used this all the way until Hammer of the Gods.
