Build Overview

This is a build guide for progressing through campaign. See the endgame version here (TBD).

This is one of the best levelling builds for Monk. I've completed campaign in 3:48 with this build.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Shatter & Blow Up Packs
  • Great Single Target
  • VERY Squishy

Build Variants

This is the setup for Act 1. It can be a struggle until level 6, but it's not too bad from there.

Go for Hollow Palm Technique and then to Concussive Attack.

How it Plays

Clearing Monsters:

Use Frozen Locus then blow it up with Glacial Cascade. You'll be doing this from level 3.

At level 10, you'll get Herald of Ice and your clear will improve dramatically

Single Target:

Use Freezing Mark, shock the boss with Tempest Flurry, and then freeze with Frozen Locus (you'll need to blow it up with Glacial Cascade).

When the boss freezes, you'll get two buffs: Freezing Mark buff, and Ice Bite II buff from Frozen Locus. You'll consume the freeze and deal massive damage with Glacial Cascade.

You'll then have 4 HUGE multipliers: The shock (which goes up to 90% by the end of the campaign), 30% gained as cold from Freezing Mark, another 30% gained as cold from Ice Bite II, and a 425% more multiplier from Glacial Cascade consuming freeze.

How it Works

Ascendancy:

Go for Mountain Teachings on Martial Artistry or I am the Thunder... on Invoker.
