Main Interaction
Brutus' Lead Sprinkler grants a chance to trigger
Molten Shower on hit with the weapon based on your total Strength. It also grants flat added Fire Damage to Attacks based on Strength, which is a global modifier that applies to all Attacks. The Acolyte of Chayula has a hidden notable,
Archon of Chayula, which is unlocked via the endgame Breach questline. The
Archon of Chayula skill creates tornados while it's active, which deal Attack Damage to nearby enemies, triggering
Molten Shower - this allows us to mostly bypass usage of any Mace abilities and access a playstyle which simply involves moving around and letting the tornados do all of the heavy lifting.
Playstyle & Skill Usage
When first entering an area, use
Molten Blast to generate enough Glory to use
Archon of Chayula.
The main concept of this build is to be able to cycle usage of
Archon of Chayula by obtaining Glory from Hits with Tornados spawned in the last cycle, which leads to only dodging around and letting Tornados do all of the work and simply pressing the Archon Skill once every ~25 seconds. This naturally means that more juiced up maps with more Monsters are more beneficial as there's a constant stream of targets for Tornados to chase and build Glory from. Note that Glory can only be obtained while the Archon buff is not active.
Sometimes you'll encounter dry periods where you run out of time on the
Archon of Chayula buff and there are no nearby enemies to build Glory for the existing Tornados. In this case you'll need to use
Molten Blast once more to build Glory again.
Drop areas of
Despair on single targets such as map bosses, or clumps of enemies such as an Abyssal pit. Note that Atziri's Allure will not reflect the curse back to you because you're technically not inflicting the curse, but rather creating a persistent cursed ground.
If you take enough Damage to put you in danger of dying, use the combo of
Refutation into
Convalescence to recover. Be aware of your heavy stun buildup bar on the left while the Refutation buff is active.
Weapon Swap Information
- Set
Archon of Chayula and
Molten Blast to Weapon Set 1 only - Set
Despair to Weapon Set 2 only - Ensure your
Brutus' Lead Sprinkler setup is in Weapon Set 1 and
Cursecarver +
Arvil's Wheel are in Weapon Set 2 - Set the Passive Tree for Weapon Set Points as shown in the Passive Tree information below
Make sure that you quickly swap back to your main Weapon Set after using
Despair - you can do this by manually pressing X (default) or by using
Molten Blast.
Dominion Anoint Information
Dominion is an anoint only Notable, it cannot be allocated on the Passive Skill Tree. You must use Distilled Emotions on your Amulet - Distilling can be done at The Withered Willow (the new Delirium Hub on the Atlas map). You will need to use the following in this order:
Potent Liquid Contempt - Concentrated Liquid Suffering - Concentrated Liquid Isolation
Heroic Tragedy Timeless Jewel Information
The number (seed) on the
Heroic Tragedy doesn't matter. Only the name is important, and must be Vorana, which will cause the dominated Keystone in radius to become
Black Scythe Training.
Boots
Decree of Flight is OPTIONAL. Make use of a crafted pair of Boots instead if you wish - this can provide more Movement Speed and space for Resistances to alleviate pressure on other gear slots, whilst also enabling a higher total hit pool if you can obtain very good crafted Boots.
Decree of Flight has very good synergy with the playstyle which involves a lot of dodging, also providing you with some Guard to buy time for recharge. Give it a try and see which you prefer!
Respeccing into this Build
Only consider respeccing to this build if you have all 8 Ascendancy points already unlocked. I recommend a minimum of Level 80 to respec into this build. To do that, remove the following from the tree below and allocate these as you level up:
- Both extra Jewel sockets (6 points total)
Nimble Strength (3 points)
Brute Strength (5 points)
Protraction (4 points)
Beef (2 points)
Note that there is a Lower Budget Version documented below. If you don't have a lot of currency to put into the build, you should begin there.
Upgrading Molten Shower to Level 20
If you have infinite currency to spend you can upgrade the
Molten Shower Skills granted by
Brutus' Lead Sprinkler to Level 20 using a new currency item called Perfect Flux. Going from Level 18 to Level 20 is about 7.5% more Damage, but note that good corruptions such as an extra socket or higher added Fire Damage may be superior (and cheaper). However, with an extreme amount of currency spent you may obtain both (or just get very lucky).
Life Flask
Use a standard Life Flask until you become more comfortable with the build and the playstyle (until you can rely on your Energy Shield staying up most of the time). Once you're more experienced, you can swap to
Blood of the Warrior which is used purely to maintain Rage when traversing between packs of Monsters or during periods of downtime when your Tornados are unable to Hit anything.
Important note on Perfect Runes
Do not buy Perfect Runes directly from the Exchange - instead, use the Greater version of the Rune and upgrade it once it's in the gear socket using
Masterwork Rune.
