Hey guys, KallTorak here! I'm an Off-Meta creator with an affinity for silly goose time builds! This is my Culling Strike Witch Hunter guide for leveling through the campaign & end game.
Culling Strike is an incredibly fun mechanic in Path of Exile. Culling Strike is an on-hit mechanic that instantly kills an enemy if their health is at or below a specific health percentage threshold. It is essentially an execute mechanic that will instantly kill an enemy regardless of how much life they have as long as they meet the threshold. So all you have to do is get their life to the Culling Threshold and boom everything instantly dies. Baseline the culling strike thresholds are:
- Normal enemies: Dies at 35% health or lower.
- Magic enemies: Dies at 20% health or lower.
- Rare enemies: Dies at 10% health or lower.
- Unique enemies (bosses): Dies at 5% health or lower
What makes culling strike fun is you can scale this threshold! With items like
Myris Uxor and
Horror's Flight we are able to get to a 100% chance to cull Normal and Magic enemies. Meaning all you have to do is breath on them and boom they die!
Why Play Culling Witch Hunter?
Witch Hunter comes with
Pitiless Killer which gives all your skills Culling Strike. While it is possible to get Culling Strike on all classes, Witch Hunter has the easiest and most efficient way of getting this effect on all their skills.
Judge, Jury, and Executioner also provides Decimating Strike which makes using Culling Strike easier early on.
Sorcery Ward ends up being a massive defensive layer for Cull builds since their bases use evasion.
Weapon Master is also fantastic for this setup.
Culling Strike builds ultimately struggle with single target. It takes a lot of investment to scale culling strike to where you can instantly coll normal and magic enemies.
Weapon Master essentially lets you play two builds in one. You will find that we are using two weapon sets very differently. One for culling strike and mobilty. The other for single target.
Whats fun about this setup is it allows you to use whatever you want for single target.
Oil Barrage,
Flicker Strike,
Fragmentation Rounds,
Supercharged Slam are all very viable options for single target, and there are more to choose from! Culling Strike is very versatile in how it can be fleshed out for single target. Add on tools like
Killing Palm,
His Vile Intrusion, and
Lightning Warp and cull builds end of having amazing clear speed and mobility.
