- Huge Defensives
- Perfect for Abyssal League
- Dots Take Time to ramp
- No speedy Rhoa goodboy
Equipment
Main Gearing Tips:
Uniques:
Grab a
Atziri's Disdain immediately. This gives you a massive amount of energy shield, which will is key to the build.
Once you hit around level 70, switch over from a normal rare chest piece to a
Waveshaper. This gives us a TON more energy shield regen, which is to key in this build. Its worth sacrificing a small amount of energy shield for a massive amount of energy shield regen.
For Rich people:
If you're rich or a hideout warrior, get a
Headhunter for extra life and massive damage boost.
Grab 3 sockets on your gloves (possible now with corrupted extraordinary items), and slam in 3
Fenumus' Rune of Spinning for 24% cast speed.
Spell Levels:
We can get a ton of spell levels on our gear, and this gives a massive damage boost to our chaos spells
- Wand: +5 to chaos levels
- Focus: +2 to all spell skills
- Amulet: +2 to all spell skills
Stats Focus:
- Aim for + chaos damage and + spell damage everywhere you can get it.
- Try and get good rolls on + cast speed as we have to throw out lots of spells per pack.
- Get + max life life everywhere, as this gives us more energy shield.
- Get + energy shield everywhere as its our main defensive.
- fill out any gaps with elemental resistances (rings can have + to all elemental resistances)
Skill Gems
Support Gem Requirements:
Str 15
Dex 20
Int 65
Essence Drain
Contagion
Dark Effigy
Withering Presence
Despair
Convalescence
Blasphemy
Gems Tech Explained:
Curses:
We
Despair to to bring down enemy chaos resistance and trigger another wave of AoE curses with Hex Bloom
We then run
Blasphemy to have a second curse
Temporal Chains to slow enemies, useful in early maps.
What is Convalesence?:
It is our holy nectar, our life juice. We already have a ton of energy shield AND really high energy shield regen thanks to
Waveshaper. But with
Convalescence, the second your energy shield runs out, you slap this ability and it immediately comes back, and it stops interupt. Perfect for abyssal league.
Why no Unearth?:
Too many buttons... Honestly thought, this build has lots of buttons. Generally a pack of mobs needs
Essence Drain,
Contagion,
Dark Effigy. So in abyssal league, i think its better to drop unearth and the scopion minions, in place of taking a ton of extra curse nodes and juicing our curses.
And don't worry all those corpses don't go to waste, because we have Profanity II which uses nearby corpses to increase our chaos damage.
Passive Tree
Follow this and use weapon swap abilities.
If you have find weapon swap confusing, or are avoiding it, PLEASE don't. It is so easy and so simple once you learn it, and gives you literally massive multiples more damage. I explain how to use the weapon swap really simply in the video guide. Pleaaase take the time to learn weapon swap, and this build becomes so much stronger.
How it Plays
This is a full chaos damage over time build (DoT), where we apply multiple chaos DoTs like
Contagion,
Essence Drain and Decaying Hex, to quickly delete enemies. We then spread the debuffs with
Contagion and Hex Bloom when we defeat the enemies.
How it Works
- Cast
Essence Drain first as its our main damage ability. - Cast
Contagion on the same mob that you cast
Essence Drain on so that it spreads afterwards. - If the mob has lots of health, or is elite/unique, cast
Despair to reduce chaos resistance. - If there are big packs like an abyss, drop a
Dark Effigy totem and despair the pack (doesn't matter if you miss, this spreads).
