Welcome to MrRonit's
Lightning Arrow Deadeye Build that has taken Patch 0.3 by storm! What makes this version different from Fubgun's or other content creators is that it is tailored for a budget build - it manages to combine both the crit and non-crit versions of the
Lightning Arrow build that makes even average gear shine!
[0.3] MrRonit's Budget OPTIMIZED Lightning Arrow Deadeye
Build Overview
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Fast Movement Speed
- One Button Mapping
- Great Boss Damage
- High Evasion/ES Survivability
- Rhoa Mount Knockdown Can Be Frustrating
Build Variants
Hybrid Evasion/ES and Crit/Non-Crit setup that makes you tanky and it lets you decimate maps/bosses with ease!
Equipment
Remember to cap out your resistances to 75%! Chaos resistance stacking is less important in Patch 0.3 as a lot of sources of chaos damage got nerfed.
N.B The baseline extra spirit you need from items is 50 for running all our skills which require spirit:
Ghost Dance,
Wind Dancer,
Herald of Thunder and
Rhoa Mount. The cheap way to do this is to split it between amulet and chest
Gear Priority
1)
Gemini Bow - the additional arrow it fires vs other bows is HUGE for
Lightning Arrow mapping and it lets you dump out
Lightning Rod faster. Look for these 3 affixes:
- Bow Attacks Fire an Additional Arrow
- Chance to Gain Onslaught on Killing Hits (Onslaught is a really good buff which provides 10% MS + 20% skill speed which is a big DPS increase whilst mapping)
- +4 to Attack Skills (Attack skills benefit
Herald of Thunder whereas +projectile skills doesn't)
And then sort your bow by highest DPS on the search filter which will sort out all the flat damage affixes by itself. You can replace the Chance to Gain Onslaught with +Crit Chance but you do lose a bit of mapping speed and it's better for higher level (lvl 95+)/better geared characters where you have more crit damage and crit chance nodes invested in.
Socket with
Thane Myrk's Rune of Summer which is really cheap and effective! If you have more money then socket with
Thane Leld's Rune of Spring but this is a marginal gain.
2)
Volant Quiver - I recommend using a volant quiver which gives us more arrow speed - why does this matter?
Because in our build we have
Feathered Fletching which gives us more damage from increased arrow and projectile speed. Here you want:
- Projectile speed
- +2 to projectile skills
- Critical hit chance and critical damage bonus for attacks
- High flat lightning damage roll as well as a high flat other damage roll
Ideally you would want to replace the non lightning flat damage roll with increased damage with bow skills but that is a very very expensive affix, as soon as you add that on it becomes very expensive so for a budget build avoid that affix!
3) Chest - High Evasion/ES Hybrid chest piece with spirit and resistances. This gives more ES than using just a pure Evasion chest piece with
Spectral Ward. I prefer having more ES than evasion as evasion has diminishing returns! Eventually you will want to drop spirit from your chest and move it all to your amulet so you can get more maximum life. Socket with
Greater Iron Rune
4) Helmet - Pure ES helmet so we can take advantage of
Subterfuge Mask anoint which gives more evasion/ES than a hybrid ES/evasion helmet. Squeeze resistances and rarity here.
5) Gloves - attack speed with high lightning flat damage (and other flat damage rolls) along with resistances. Socket with
The Greatwolf's Rune of Claws
6) Rings
- High Flat lightning damage
- High other flat damage
- Rarity
- Resistances
- Stats if possible
7) Boots - Evasion/ES Hybrid with 35% Movement speed, resistances, rarity
8) Belt - 3 charm slots, resistances
9) Charms
Thawing Charm
Stone Charm
Golden Charm
Skill Gems
Support Gem Requirements:
Str 40
Dex 60
Int 40
Lightning Arrow
Lightning Rod
Herald of Thunder
Tornado Shot
Barrage
Wind Dancer
Ghost Dance
Rhoa Mount
Order of Priority to Quality Gems
1)
Lightning Rod - 20% chance to cause additional burst
2)
Ghost Dance - will give you extra 2% of your evasion rating as energy shield when hit
3)
Lightning Arrow - greater chance to shock
Note:
For
Lightning Rod we use Rigwald's Ferocity as attack speed is NOT important for this skill - remember to set the skill as only using weapon set II and then you want to share your weapon set I weapons with weapon set II so they are identical. If you don't have this then use Lightning Attunement instead!
Spirit Requirements
For
Rhoa Mount,
Herald of Thunder,
Ghost Dance and
Wind Dancer you need combined 150 spirit - the cheapest way to do this is to split +50 spirit between your chest piece and amulet! If you want to also run Precision I on top you need +60 spirit from items.
Aspirational Upgrade
Once your
Lightning Arrow tooltip DPS reaches around 60k+ you can switch out Charged Shots I for Nova Projectiles which will increase your screen-wide clear capabilities and make mapping a breeze. If you do this when your DPS is too low it won't feel great!
Passive Tree
You can change the Ascendancy Node
Projectile Proximity Specialisation from Point Blank to Far Shot for certain pinnacle bosses to make it easier to stand far away and nuke them!
The main stat priority is Dexterity but you want enough Intelligence to equip your helmet and enough strength for your support gems!
Atlas Tree
This Atlas Tree focuses on maximising your Tablets and Waystones to juice maps as best as possible for most currency drops. It also picks up shrine nodes as they will speed up your map clearing by a lot!
For Swamp/Water maps make sure to re-allocate one point into
Local Knowledge for more currency drops! For every other map MAKE SURE TO TAKE THIS OFF or it will nerf your currency drops!
How it Plays
Mapping
1) Hop onto your
Rhoa Mount and spam
Lightning Arrow
2) For tankier rares use
Lightning Rod a couple of times before spamming
Lightning Arrow
Bossing
1) Place down
Lightning Rod a few times where boss is and then use
Tornado Shot
2) Use
Barrage with
Lightning Arrow and then spam
Lightning Arrow on boss until
Lightning Rod dissappears
3) Reapply
Lightning Rod and rinse and repeat!
