***IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS***

This build is not recommended for beginners. There are some relatively expensive items that are required to even get started and there are some thresholds that you need to hit (specifically % Chance to not Consume Corpses) or else the build will do no damage. In my experience, anything below 95% chance to not destroy corpses feels REALLY BAD!

ALSO! GGG is aware of the issue where certain monsters and bosses cause the Bitter Dead balls to float in front of them and not do damage immediately. They are currently working on a fix!

Overview

This build is centered the new Kalguuran Skill, Bitter Dead. This is an extremely flashy and satisfying skill that uses your minions as corpses to freeze everything on the screen and leads to an extremely relaxed and surprisingly tanky playstyle. It is the epitome of a 1 button build.

Why Gemling?

Gemling was buffed in Patch 0.5 and Advanced Thaumaturgy allows us to get alternate effects for gem quality. Bitter Dead's alternate quality allows us to get more chances to not consume corpses when using the skill and all-in-all we can get over 100% chance to not consume corpses when using it, which allows us to use it as a single-target bossing option.

Overall Rule of Thumb

Get as much Mana and Intelligence as you can get on your gear! Wherever it fits, just get it!

Weapons

Enezun's Charge with 30% Chance to not Destroy Corpses (Vaaled)

Shrine Sceptre (any element) with the following stats (priority order)

  1. High Spirit
  2. Strength/Int
  3. Mana
  4. Mana Regeneration

Helmet

ES with as much ES and Res as possible. Use Idol of Ralakesh.

Gloves

Maligaro's Virtuosity (Runeforged) is required. Eventually use Kurgal's Gaze and Fenumus' Rune of Spinning if you can get 2 sockets.

Chest Armour

Morior Invictus is BiS with the following stats:

  • All Resistance
  • Spirit (Needs to be 14 Spirit per augment)
  • Mana

If you can't afford it a 5 socket corrupt, just use a rare ES body armour with as much spirit as you can get and as much energy shield as you can get. Then Runeforge it to get Runic Ward.

Boots

Pretty straightforward - as much Evasion and Energy Shield as possible and Resistances as possible. As high Movement Speed as possible. If you can get Chance to not Remove Charges line, that is BiS.

Decree of Flight is also an alternative to help with clear speed.

Amulet

Best in slot would be a rare amulet with:

  • +3 to Spell Levels
  • Spirit
  • + Mana
  • % Increased Mana
  • Cast Speed

Annoint Paragon

Rings

Get as much Mana as possible! Also get Crit Chance and Cast Speed!

Belt

Darkness Enthroned (body armour) with Fox Idol and Rune of the Blossom.

MAKE SURE IT IS NOT 100% INCREASED AUGMENT EFFECT! That will cause the Rune of the Blossom to get -2 Spirit Per 2 Levels. Anything below that will work.

Jewels

The Unique Jewels are:

Split Personality Ruby for Sorceress Starting Point (How to Put it In The Tree)

Heart of the Well

  • Dmg Gained as Extra Cold
  • Dmg Gained as Extra Lightning
  • % Mana Gained on Kill

For the Rare Jewel, prioritize the following stats in this order:

  1. Crit Chance
  2. Damage (Cold & Elemental)
  3. Meta Energy

For your Skeletal Cleric, make sure you are able to summon 10 or else you lose out damage!

Rakiata's Flow

If you don't have Rakiata's flow - replace Freezing Mark and Refutation with Elemental Weakness and Frost Bomb. This will significantly boost your single-target damage.
