Arc Spell Totem Gemling Legionnaire Endgame Build Guide

Updated on Sep 15, 2026
Sep 15, 2026

Build Overview

Welcome to the Arc Spell Totem Gemling Legionnaire Endgame Build. This build crushes the Path of Exile 2 endgame in every way possible. It has colossal AOE, kills the pinnacle Arbiter in 1 second, and flattens the hardest juiced content in the game. The best part? All of this happens while you're 2 screens away, making it one of the safest builds out there. Let's learn how to put this together!

Make sure you have most of the items listed under the Starter Equipment Section before swapping to this build. You should also be around level 75+ with your 3rd Ascendancy Complete.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • One Button
  • Colossal Regen
  • Millions of Damage
  • Hit 2 Screens In Front of You
  • Expensive
  • Mana Drain Is Annoying

Build Variants

This is the bare bones setup you should have before you respec from your Gemling leveling build to Arc Totems. If you're missing these pieces the build is going to feel very weak when you begin. Nothing here should be expensive at all, even on Day 1 of the league.

Arc Totems requires a bit of gear to get off the ground. Here's the shopping list you should aim for before speccing into it:

  1. +3 Spell Level Wand - Look for a wand with at least +3 all spells or lightning spells to get started. If it has spell damage, damage as extra, lightning damage or cast speed as well it's even better!'
  2. Reach at least 325 Spirit - Each totem will initially cost 75 Spirit to drop, so reaching 325 lets you have 3 Spell Totem down while also having Archmage. You can get bonus spirit on Body Armours, Amulets, and a Sceptre in your offhand. You can also buy a Rune of the Blossom for your body armour to finish off the requirement. The best place to acquire this spirit is on the Sceptre because the other rolls on it pretty much don't matter. HINT: It is much better to have a Shrine Sceptre with any of the purities over a different kind because it gives you a valuable aura, and lets you socket in costly spirit supports for free!
  3. +2 Spell Level Amulet - Since most people pay a high price for a +3 Spell Level Amulet on Day 1, we can be cheap and buy a +2 for starters. If you can get anything else with it like Energy Shield, Cast Speed, Crit, Resistances etc. even better!
  4. Cast Speed Rings - Look for 2 rings with a healthy amount of Cast Speed on them for a cheap damage boost early on. It should be very easy to craft these rings on your own just by doing breach and putting points it's the spellcaster section of the tree.
  5. Cap Resistances & Build Defenses - The other pieces don't have to be perfect, but try to cap your resistances, build your life pool, and gather some energy shield. Chaos Resistance doens't need to be maxed, but you want 2 rolls somewhere. You can also use an Amethyst Ring as a base to get more.
  6. Bonus: Start to Stack Energy Shield & Mana - This is critical for the next stages of the build to buff Archmage, so why not start now!
  7. CRITICAL RED ALERT - Make sure you go to Doryani to respec your Implanted Gems ascendancy point from Dexerity to Intelligence!

The extra spells and their supports are only there to satisfy our Ascendancy requirements, explained below:

  • Virtuous Barrier benefits from having as many intelligence required skills as possible, so we fill out the rest of our slots with spells.
  • Gem Studded gives us all 3 buffs if we have an equal number of supports of each attribute type. Fill in random supports on the extra skills to make these numbers match. If you don't have enough strength or dex to allocate them, respec some of your int on the passive tree (yes the mana lost to make this work is worth it).

Gems Explained

  • Spell Totem should be cut as low as possible to reach exactly Rank 23 because higher ranks cost more mana, and this is the last rank where you get an extra totem. Twice corrupting it to 23% quality is highly recommended because of Advanced Thaumaturgy.
  • Arc is what does everything for us, so investing into a Level 21 with 23% quality is an excellent investment. We don't need any sockets on this because the sockets come from Spell Totem.
    • Lightning Mastery is an easy way to gain +1 Spell Levels early on - a big damage increase.
    • Urgent Totems III is better than it sounds because totem placement speed is critical. Notice how we also take every single node of it in the tree too.
    • Dominus' Grasp is a major damage increased from the quality buff on Arc from Advanced Thaumaturgy. If you can't afford one then use Lightning Attunement instead.
    • Sione's Temper is a better version of Wildshards II and is usually quite cheap.
  • Purity of Lightning can be any of the purities as long as you have your resistances sorted out. We can load this up with expensive spirit supports because they're free (since it comes from our offhand).
  • Archmage gives us mega damage for having extra mana. We allocate Atziri's Communion to make it reserve our life instead. We need this to bring our life value below 30% to take advantage of the low life nodes in the passive tree. That's why I allocate Clarity II and Vitality I -> to increase the spirit costs to bring our life down.
  • Mana Tempest never needs to be used, but if you want extra fire power for a boss, this will delete them.
  • Flame Wall can be used in the starter version for a damage boost while we gear up.

Ascendancy

CRITICAL RED ALERT - Make sure you go to Doryani to respec your Implanted Gems ascendancy point from Dexerity to Intelligence!

Passive Tree

This is a basic starter tree while we gear up. To re-route our tree properly we need to find or buy Split Personality that lets us start from Templar. This drops off the Raven Boss if you want to target farm it.

Jewels

In the beginning we won't have great jewels, so try to find some with Spell Damage, Lightning Damage, Cast Speed, or really anything else that boosts spells for now. Don't spend a lot on these, we will fix the jewels later on.

Atlas Tree

Threw this together right before the 0.5.5 league start. The idea is to rush:

  • Everything Shrine related to buff our character while leveling
  • All Rogue Exile nodes to kill them along the way
  • Unlocking all Exceptional Items

For the league mechanic I plan to start Breach so go deep into the right side of the Ring tree to hopefully get 2 really nice caster rings early for a damage boost.

How it Plays

  1. Lay down all your Spell Totem and watch the screen get vaporized by Arc.
  2. For extra fire power on bosses you can use Flame Wall and Mana Tempest, but these are only necessary for the Starter version.

That's it!

Changelog

9/12/2026 - Swapped Lightning Mastery and Sione's Temper for Lightning Penetration and Zenith II in the mid tier setup to smooth out the damage without Rakiata's Flow and to help keep our mana very high to stay alive.

9/9/2026 - Updated the Starter version of the guide to take Stormkeeper (thanks Kkarumaa).

9/7/2026 - After fighting bosses with the starter gear and Shock taking too long to apply, swapped the passive tree to pick up Power Conduction. Also added Dispatch Foes as the starter annoint because it's cheap and you never crit, its your totems, so you always have the buff.

9/6/2026 - Updated the Starter Passive Tree and wrote some more hints on gearing.

9/5/2026 - Updated the Starter gear, gems and passive tree after making the full respec on the 0.5.5 league.

9/4/2026 - Updated the Intro, Starter Gear Section, Starter Gem Section, Starter Passive Tree, and How It Plays sections for the 0.5.5 league launch.

9/4/2026 - Rewrote a new Starter build for the 0.5.5 league launch with much cheaper items and a new passive tree. Moved the old "Starter" build to Mid Tier.

7/19/2026 - Added the Ascendancy Points on the YT video.

7/17/2026 - Wrote the starter version and updated the expensive one to include Voices and Megalomaniac.

7/15/2026 - Updated all the gear pieces.

7/11/2026 - Major revision updated every facet of the guide.

7/09/2026 - Planner created, but its not even close to done.

I feel like im missing something. I cant get charges in the starter tier to use arc totem?

krayl•1sec ago

You need to get to the notable passive Ancestral Bond. It drops the charges and uses spirit instead. If you do not have enough points to get there, stick with the grenade build until then. I believe the guide recommends level 75 before bringing this build online.

how do u get 1 extra skill?

Search it up on youtube for visual instructions but its in the tower where you fought Arbriter of divinity. That tower has two waypoints, you choose "site of the chosen" and then load in, go up in the elevator and interact to get the skill point.

Where do i reach out to community to help me with this build? Since i cannot afford minimal chest piece which is thousands of devines and can't find another way to find or make a chest piece with 51 minimal spirit per guide and that amount of health or mana. i am stuck with no way to switch to this build. Rune blossom is useless at end-game. i'm over level 85, run blossom takes off 1 spirit every 2 levels. so i'm confussed why rax end-game build even suggests putting rune blossom in. and on market searching spirit chests, none exists with health or mana without spending thousands of divs or more without sacrificing amount of spirit health or mana. even when making it 1 minimal health mana and spirit it's still hundreds of divs. given that rax said this is easily affordable equipment even day 1 of league. i need help figuring out what i am doing wrong

so i ended up makin switch after buying amulet with spirit. the split personality at 30divs is insanely costly to me. may take me another month or more to save up. especially now that i clear maps so incredibly slowly. while trash mobs are more easy to clear then the starting gernader build, the yellow and unique mobs and bosses take ages to kill. and sometimes rogue exiles are impossible, as they heal up faster then i can kill them. I did get all the minimum plus more as far as spell damage and crit and all that. i don't know what to do next to boost my damage. this build sounded like it was be amazing to switch to for at least to begin farming for more espensive stuff. but i am finding that everything is way too much and sadly way way more slow to do maps now compared to the starter gernader. everything i look at now, split personality, better wand, etc. basically gear on 2nd mid tier is ungodly expensive. i really wish there was a list of steps or tips on fixing single target damage

Temple runs are good to build currency as monsters not too difficult and temple tablets are really cheap. Use 3 tablets then do consecutive temple runs. You can end up killing atziri roughly every third/fourth run for great loot and upgrade corruption rooms for architects orbs along the way. I got 30+ div in one set of 6 runs. Also ignore mana and health, ES is the massive priority early on - mana is a bonus, health is useless when you have eldritch battery

If you're a causal gamer, you are better of switching to a cheaper build like oil grenade flameblast. This build is incredibly expensive and it will continue to feel bad for you unfortunately

What is charge regulation used for? why doesn't it have any supports? Same for "the Stars Answer", where does that one come from and when is it used?

0
F
FierceDagger•8d ago

Watched the video skill section and found the answers. In case anyone is wondering:
Stars Answer comes from using the Runeseekers call and it is not used.
Charge Regulation is used. The charges come from socketing a Raven-touchedd shard in the helmet (which allows you to annoint it) and then annointing Thaumaturgic Generation. No idea where the charges come from in the mid tier setup though.

1
B
BoldMask•2d ago

Charge regulation is used in combo with anointing Thaumaturgic Generation which will give us crit chance, skill speed and/or defenses depending on the charges we have that the anoint will generate every few seconds.

Charges don't come from anywhere in the mid setup as its not used in it as annoint the helmet is expensive

omg. why is starter build so expensive. I just now got to point where i want to look into switching from the gremling legionair. the guide says, "This is the bare bones setup you should have before you respec from your Gemling leveling build to Arc Totems. If you're missing these pieces the build is going to feel very weak when you begin. Nothing here should be expensive at all, even on Day 1 of the league." yet very first thing i check is want, it's 30 div minimum up to 300+ divs for just the "bare minimum" wand. and many of rest of equipment isn't even being sold by anyone. how is that bare minimum?? i click on trade button directly from this guide to search market for the bare minimum gear and it's ethier not available for extremely expensive. I only have a handful of devine. what am i missing? I'm level 84 so i feel like from reading guides, that i am actually progressed further then i needed to switch to this. yet based on costs of items here, i feel like i may be months of farmin

Hey there - I had the same issue - but I often find that if you are clicking the trade links from the ragdoll planner - I also find no stock or ludicrous prices. I just looked for the "key" components in trade - so wand was +5, get spirit up - do it manually and you will find gear that can get you going. Good luck

Because everyone and their grandma wants to play arc totems. Also the league was solved already hence inflation.

Hey there - Dad Gamer here. I have built starter version and it is really good fun (thx again for a gr8 build) - and while my gear is getting slowly better - I am wondering how best to get to mid version? Should I aim for the Passive tree respec first or better gear? If passive tree - what sort of power spike does swapping the passive tree give - as 30 Div for a Split Personality Warrior is a lot for me (some recommed in the comments). Would I be better looking for gear with that 30 Div - or holding off to get a Templar 70 Div version first and then respec passives from starter to mid and then go gear?

1
H
herm1tt•9d ago

Semi-casual here, my experience so far: the power spike comes from combined switch - you want to simultaneously switch to having as much mana as possible + have split personality to be able to reach out to Eldritch Battery and Mind over Matter keystone passives. Respeccing passive tree to MOM+EB while having life on gear instead of mana breaks the build, because mana becomes both our health pool and damage source.

Regarding the gear - first after buying Split Personality (templar) I've aquired much cheaper gear than listed here - just mana instead of life (we don't need life after switching the tree), as much ES as I could afford and resistances at 75+. This brought me to about 2,5k mana which is barely enough to stay alive in t15-s and farm for more expensive items. After that - % mana rings, +5 wand, more levels, more spirit etc.

This upgrade track worked for me, now I'm 4,5k mana and farming for the reservation efficiency gear (much more expensive) to fit in more totems.

The split personality are cheaper now, with warrior one costing 1 chaos and templar around 55 chaos last i checked.

Hidden anointment. It won't show up on the passive tree. You need ferocity, isolation, despair in that order to anoint the amulet

I think they fixed the free Spirit Gems. Now it’s a display issue. I pulled them from my Scepter and it works again.
