Build Overview

This is the start of my guide for Arc Spell Totem Gemling Legionnaire. The idea is to double-dip on the quality bonuses provided from Gemling Legionnaire to skill gems since both Arc and Spell Totem have INSANE bonuses granting 6% more damage per remaining chain ( about 30 chains currently or 180% more damage) and 120% cast speed with 6 totems up.

For all stages of the guide try to have your Spell Totem around level 23, this is the minimum level for +3 totem limit while costing the least amount of mana. You can give a couple additional levels for additional totem tankiness but keep this in mind.

READ Ancestral Bond. This makes it so our totems cost spirit instead of power/endurance charges.

Setups are available for all budget levels, this build does NOT require a high budget in any way to completely crush all content in the game.

Unfortunately you cannot level as Arc Spell Totem as it requires a lot of passive points to make it to the Ancestral Bond keystone which this build requires to function.

Instead we play as a Grenade Mercenary with the intent to swap to arc totems around level 65-70ish. There is unfortunately no way around this. You can play any leveling build you would like, but I have the setup I will be using laid out here.

Here you will use Explosive Grenade Flash Grenade Gas Grenade Oil Grenade Cluster Grenade, to speedrun through campaign.

How to Play:

Act 1

Spend your first support gem on Multishot I for your Explosive Grenade followed by Multishot I for Flash Grenade. You should fire your Explosive Grenade far ahead of yourself and aim for the mobs to run into them as you are running away. This can take some getting used to.

For general clear you will be using primarily Explosive Grenade, cast it the moment you see a pack far ahead of you. This will be a long delay for now but it gets shorter and shorter as we progress. Flash Grenade can be used for a more instant but less potent burst of damage. This also causes huge stun-buildup so you should use it on cd for bosses to build stun bar.

Try to cut a level 5 skill gem before the final boss for Gas Grenade. Your priority should loosely be Frost Bomb ( for exposure as needed ) > Explosive Grenade > Gas Grenade > Flash Grenade ( for stun buildup. ) As long as the mob is ingited Gas Grenade will pop instantly.

Focus on +# to # added X damage on your crossbow and both rings. It is INCREDIBLY important to keep this value as high as possible as it is the baseline for all your skills damage. Check Vendors constantly to keep your weapon and rings up to date.

For Armour Pieces look to use Either Armour or Armour/Evasion Hyrbid Pieces with:

How it Plays

FAQ

Its VERY important for single target that you have your weapon set passives set correctly in both your passive tree and gem assignments. Also MAKE SURE your last cast is either a totem or mana tempest so that you are resting in set 1 ( archmage ).

When do I swap?

Swap when you have a gear set prepared to put you around 3.5k mana and you are AT MINIMUM level 70. BOTH OF THESE TOGETHER ARE REQUIRED not 1 or the other. Mana regen on rings and spirit on both your chest and amulet are very important aswell.
