Just a rough outline of how to level a Monk ideally for Martial Artist ascendancy with minimal deaths.
Arguably, you can level with a spear and twisters or crossbow and grenades if you feel like making a major respec at some point.
Ascend order as Martial Artist:
No specific order but I will probably go Runic -> Way of the Mountain or Stonefist depending on current gloves.
Runic Meridians (gives you easier resist cap/some extra life/def)
Way of the Mountain should be quite good with any cold setup, just generically powerful.
Hollow Focus should do a lot of boss damage through RP as the bells will spawn during lore nonsense, just try to wait a few seconds before breaking them all as bosses have initial damage reduction.
Way of the Stonefist probably shouldn't be that good without strong 5-6 mod gloves which is quite unlikely early game.
Early Game:
Frozen Locus
Glacial Cascade or
Frozen Locus
Ice Strike depending on playstyle desired.
Mid Game:
can continue playing the early game setups or use
Whirling Assault this is my preferred skill, it lacks a bit of single target at the deeper end game but otherwise great at everything.
Gathering Storm has been reworked but should be good with
Tempest Bell and Hollow Focus bells.
Shattering Palm scales very well if you continue to use the ice skills for map clear
for mid game highly recommend whirling because it works for the entirety of the game.
