Here we'll showcase a handful of recommended builds to help guide you during the early to mid game. Specific stats and items aren't required, making them a solid entry point to jump into.
If you're just starting out and haven't unlocked the second Skill Slot yet, simply skip to the next priority node in the meantime.
Disclaimer:
Melee heroes have a pretty rough time in Task Bar Hero. Trying to tank and sustain damage can often be quite the struggle, especially when multiple ranged attacks come flying towards them as they pull aggro.
While there is yet to be a consensus about the best builds, a good place to start would include stacking Max HP and Life Leech (aim for around ~10%) on your Armor/Accessories.
Level 20 Slayer Build
We're opting for survivability over DPS here, as fighting on the frontlines can be quite dangerous. That said, if you've invested into Max HP and Life Leech early, you could put more points into your skills.

Skill Point Priority
- Slam Jump 1/5
- Crushing Blow 1/5
- Max HP 8/8
- Attack Damage 3/3
- Area of Effect 7/8
Level 30 Slayer Build
Physical Damage is too good not to take as it benefits everything the Slayer has to offer. While you could make a case for Life Leech, you're probably better off getting it via Accessories (use Amber Gems).

Skill Point Priority
- Slam Jump 1/5
- Crushing Blow 1/5
- Max HP 8/8
- Attack Damage 3/3
- Area of Effect 7/8
- Physical Damage 10/10
Level 40 Slayer Build
Here we swap out Crushing Blow for Axe Spin and invest more into Max HP. Again, if you're feeling confident about survivability, feel free to go deeper into offense.

Skill Point Priority
- Slam Jump 1/5
- Max HP 8/8
- Attack Damage 3/3
- Area of Effect 8/8
- Physical Damage 10/10
- Axe Spin 1/5
- Max HP 9/10
Level 50 Slayer Build
The skill tree opens up even more beyond level 50, but Physical Damage is the obvious first place to start. Slayer has several good nodes to choose from, and is actually spoiled for choice compared to the other heroes.
As for which direction to go, there isn't really a consensus just yet. Ultimately, it's about figuring out how to maximize offense while consistently staying alive.
Power Leveling Tips
- If you simply want to power level the Slayer alongside your higher level characters, just invest fully into defensive stats and avoid equipping skills like Slam Jump as they help close the gap.
- Don't equip Boots unless there's no Movement Speed on them. Otherwise, the Slayer may pull too much aggro and cause your squishy DPS to die. You'll want the Slayer positioned at the back.
