Character Profile

Shinku is an S-Class Cosmos character with Condensate Arc. She's the first limited banner character in v1.2, and fifth banner character in total.

She's a martial artist main DPS who focuses on hand-to-hand combat in two forms. In her normal form she builds "Defiant Spirit Gauge" with normal and charged attacks. Then enters Rampage form by using her Ultimate, consuming her gauge to unleash more powerful AoE attacks and builds "Fading Reason Gauge".

During Rampage, she gain an enchanted skill, consuming all "Fading Reason" to unleash a massive nuke. Near the end of her Rampage, she can unleash an even more devastating Ultimate you can repeatedly cast, and builds up for a powerful finisher.

Her passive allow the Charge reaction to regenerate Ultimate energy for the entire team instead of just the active character.

In the open world, she can unleash her Rampage as a huge boost to movement speed for better exploration.

Life Skill:

In the shop, using Shinku allows players to get a massive income increase per hour when serving three Beverage-type dishes. It pairs well with Sakiri's life skill No Work, No Reward at level 5 for overall greater Fons income.

Combat Skills:

Shinku has 4 key mechanics that define her playstyle, an distinguish her from every other character.

  • Menacing Gaze: After not attacking for 2 seconds, stacks builds up for additional burst damage next time she attack again.
  • Defiant Spirit: A unique Ultimate energy system that builds up to use her Ultimate.
  • Crimson Fury: An Ultimate transformation that enters Rampage state.
  • Fading Reason:  A unique skill energy system used to cast an enhanced skill.

Normal Attacks:

Shinku has normal attacks and enhanced normal attacks after she enters Rampage. Normal attacks and dodge counters build up Defiant Spirit, and the enhanced version has a different animation, higher damage, and builds up Fading Reason.

Her combo outside Rampage is 5x hits, with the ability to hold any of the last three hits to get additional strike and end combo.

Dodge Counter:

Countering an enemy attack after a perfect dodge is a strong hit that deals high damage and knocks back enemies. Critical dodge - even without countering - grants Menacing Gaze stacks. So outside of her Rampage, Shinku can just run around dodging and countering to build up her Defiant Spirit. Or rather dodge only without countering, to maximize the burst from Menacing Gaze.

Skill:

Normal skill is a simple three-hit attack which builds up Defiant Spirit. In second phase of her Ultimate, you can consume Fading Reason energy to unleash enhanced skill and deal massive damage.

Ultimate - Seething Wildfire:

A three-phase Ultimate that lasts for 13 seconds

  • First Phase - Crimson Fury: Consume "Defiant Spirit" to enter transformation, gains buffs for basic attacks and skill, and starts building Fading Reason. She loses this state if switched out.
  • Second Phase - Crimson Judgement: Enters near the end of the first phase, or after using three enhanced skills.
  • Third Phase - Dragonflame Verdict: A massive finisher after using all attacks in the second phase, or when the 13-second duration ends.

Passive1 - Charge Enhancement:

All allies gain Ultimate energy from Charge reaction, instead of active character only. If Shinku is the active character, she gains a stacking 5% ATK buff for 30 seconds, up to 10 stacks and trigger an additional hit every time Charge restores Ultimate energy to her (With 1-second Cooldown).

Passive2:

Increase Shinku Ultimate damage to non-Boss enemies by 50%

Best Teams

Shinku relies heavily on Charge reaction, not only for the energy regeneration for her Ultimate, but also to stack the massive ATK buff from passive.

That heavily limits her team comps, especially since she loses her buffs after switching out, so she's locked into Main on-field DPS role in any team. Her best Anima support is heavily hinted to be Iroi when she comes out in the second half of v1.2, but here's the teams Shinku can build before Iroi release.

Shinku F2P Charge Team

Shinku, Hathor, Jiuyuan, Zero

The standard Charge team, similar to Chaos and Chiz teams. With Zero easily triggering one reaction easily with their skill, and Hathor triggering the other reaction, you can get both Blossom and Remora going for Charge to begin.

Note that Skia is much worse alternative than Hathor, since Remora (and therefore Charge) doesn't last long enough with him, but he's still a valid option with her. Mint on other hand can replace Jiuyuan.

Shinku Nanally Premium Team

Shinku, Hathor, Nanally, Zero

Nanally's advantage over Jiuyuan is how her passive synergizes with Shinku. Blossom Buds by default shoot every 2 seconds, and Nanally enables them to shoot every 1 second. This allows Shinku to stack her passive much faster, reaching full stacks in single Blossom reaction.

At the same time, entire team fills their Ultimate energy pretty easily with when Nanally and Shinku paired together, allowing more burst.

Shinku Chaos Team

Shinku, Hathor, Chaos, Nanally/ Jiuyuan

It's basically a Chaos Charge team, but you pick Shinku as the Cosmos character over Zero. Chaos requires field time to trigger Remora, but he's faster than Nanally, and you need to save Esper Meter from Shinku to use in tandem.

Chaos's own DPS will compensate for the longer rotation time, but you need to trigger Charge while Shinku is active, not him. That's to stack her ATK buffs on her which is more DPS overall than Chaos. Still not the ideal comp, but a valid one.

Best Weapons

  • Limited BiS: Blushing Mirage
  • Paid Alternative: Fluff of Ferocity
  • F2P Alternative: A Time Will Come

Blushing Mirage is Shinku's signature, and fits her perfectly. It grants permanent CRIT Rate and ATK% stats. She also gainsCosmos DMG%, and Ignore Def after using Ultimate with this Arc, which is ideal for Shinku who has three phases Ultimate and keep using it.

A Time Will Come is a free A-Rank Arc you can get easily and fill as a decent alternative in early and endgame.

Best Cartridges & Modules

  • Cartridge: Lost Radiance (S)
  • Cartridge Main Stat: Cosmos DMG%
  • Substats: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / Universal DMG% / ATK%

Skill Priority

Basic Attack > Ultimate > Skill > Support Skill

Shinku DPS comes from all her skills, so she require almost equal investment for top performance. However Ultimate and Basic Attack have more impact, (except Support Skill which you can keep low level)

How to Play

In the Open World:

Shinku gains stacks of 'Deterrent Gaze' while in combat and hasn't attacked for 2 seconds, gaining 1 stack every second. This ability stays after leaving combat, so in the open world, she can enter combat with a full 8 stacks.

Upon launching an attack, Shinku consumes all 'Deterrent Gaze' stacks to launch an 'Instant Strike', that deals massive damage and regenerates Ultimate energy, Skill energy, and Cycle Meter energy.

Shinku can also activate her Rampage form in the open world to sprint at very fast speed. She enters this mode by long pressing dodge button. In addition to that, Shinku glides with purple energy wings, instead of using a glider.

In combat:

Shinku's kit is complex, but she's straight forward to play, as most of rotating parts moves automatically in the background.

There are a few things you need to do with Shinku to maximize her DPS:

  • Wait for her Menacing Gaze stacks to fill (8 stacks) before initiating the combat timer in endgame
  • Trigger Charge right before swapping her in
  • Spam Dodge-counters when possible outside her Rampage
  • Don't swap her out before her Rampage ends
  • During Rampage, spam normal attacks and dodge-counters, and press skill the moment its icon glow.
  • Neat the end of Rampage, press Ultimate whenever its icon starts to glow.
  • Save her Esper reaction (by not swapping from her to Anima or Lakshana characters immediately after she finishes her rotation), and rather return to her and swap to Lakshana to trigger Remora after finishing allies rotation, and right before starting new Shinku rotation.
