Character Profile

Akane Rin is S-Class character, with Lakshana element who uses a Liquid Arc. She's the second limited banner character in v1.4, and 10th banner character in total.

She's a former Anomaly Hunter, a guitarist, and lead singer in the small ban "The Whoots". In combat, her Guitar turns into her weapon, sending higher speed sound blades from long range.

Her role is a main on-field DPS, but can also work as a support for Shinku, or Charge team in general, as Akane Rin is very good at refreshing Remora on enemies for more hits with the Charge reaction.

She carries her guitar with her all the time, and can play it anywhere in the open world.

Her normal attacks is a combo if 4 ranged hits, with every hit generating "String Energy".

Akane uses skill to attach an Overtone debuff to either a single target (press version), or AOE (press version), and deals damage. Then her basic attacks channel into this Overtone and target takes extra damage.

Her enhanced skill detonate the Overtone for massive single target damage.

She has a two two-stage Ultimate, her first cast deals high damage and puts Akane in special status. Cast again to use the second phase which deal massive damage.

Best Teams

As a main DPS with very high DPS potential, Akane Rin lean more towards forming a hyper carry team, with full support cast. With the Exception of Charge teams that uses Akane Rin as a Lakshana support to refresh Remora.

Note that Akane Rin's Remora refresh doesn't help Chaos, the same way Skia's refresh doesn't help him either. So she's at best a cope pair for him, if not outright useless.

Shinku Charge Team

Shinku, Akane Rin, Zero, Iroi

In this team, Akane Rin basically replaces Hathor, as her passive allow refreshing Remora in enemy multiple times, resulting in a longer overall duration for Remora. You have to trigger Remora first and Blossom second to fully utilize the Blossom duration, which become shorter than Remora in this setup.

Shinku, you can use Akane with Chiz in place of Shinku in this team. However, Chiz has way less DPS, due to not benefitting from support buffs. At this point, it's better to just play Akane Rin as a hyper carry and put an extra support in place of Chiz

Akane Stain and Charge Team

Akane Rin, Blackbird, Zero, Iroi

Due to being self sufficient and not reliant on another Lakshana support to function, Akane Rin has the luxury of building a team that has access to both Charge and Stain. So her Ultimate uptime become very high, while also having Stain debuff on enemies all the time from Blackbird instant cycles.

Akane Rin auto refresh Remora, so doesn't need Zero's instant cycle to trigger Remora more than once in start of the fight. Therefore, Zero can focus on keeping the Blossom and the Charge up instead.

Iroi also one of the best buffer who also heal and group enemies, so she's a perfect fit. If you don't have Iroi, use Jiuyuan.

Akane Hotori Blackbird Stain and Nova Team

Akane Rin, Blackbird, Hotori, Daffodill/ Lacrimosa

Exploiting Hotori's skill replicating ability is a decent way to build a team. Akane Rin's enhanced skill is a massive burst of damage, and repeating is once every 30 seconds is a huge gain, added on top of Hotori's own DPS which she deals while time is frozen.

With Hotori, we also get an extra instant reaction from Blackbird's skill, which better utilized by Daffodill to trigger Nova for some extra damage. Daffodill herself can add some DPS and only takes very short time on-field if you rotate her well enough.

If you have A6: Morning Spell on Lacrimosa, you can dish out many more Nova triggers and then repeat them, so Lacrimosa would fit in place of Daffodill.

Note that first trigger of Remora would take some time, as we don't have Zero for instant Cycle. So this team is more suitable for content where you start with Esper Meter full (like the Anomaly challenges). Or grit your teeth through the first rotation in normal content, as Akane Rin can refresh Remora after the first cast.

Akane Aurelia Old Band Team

Aurelia, Akane Rin, Haniel, Zero

A thematic team that's lore accurate, slotting Akane with her old friend Aurelia, and her new friends Haniel and Zero. It's perfectly synergistic team, with Stain, and Remora, but Aurelia DPS drags the team down.

With no healer, no time-stop, and no I-frames from quick swap in team, you can utilize Aurelia constant dodge to keep enemies away from team while still doing DPS. Then use Akane Rin in opportunity when enemy is broken or in downtime of enemy aggressive skills.

Akane pure F2P Team

Akane Rin, Zero, Fadia, Haniel/ Sakiri/ Hathor

This team is a stepping stone that works if you lack any limited characters to pair with Akane Rin (e.g: you started the game in v1.4 and missed all previous banners)

It's Remora and Stain team so it covers the necessary reactions, with Zero taking caring of Remora, and Akane Rin taking all field time to build her Esper Meter naturally to trigger Stain. Haniel is the only buffer, and Fadia gives survivability to the team, especially Akane Rin who will face tank all enemy hits without a healer in team.

You can't fully utilize Fadia's or Haniel's kit without Nova, and you can't rely on Nova without Blackbird or Lacrimosa A6. So that's where the team gets a bit of weakness. But it's a valid free team that still perform close to premium level.

Replace Haniel with any other buffer you have if you want, as Fadia already fill Psyche slot. Sakiri is an option to add grouping in AOE scenarios and similar buff capabilities. Or go for Hathor for 10% Crit Rate buff, and higher dps from Akane Rin's passive when refreshing Remora.

Best Weapons

  • Limited BiS: Far Side of the Moon
  • Paid Alternative: Fluff of Fleetness
  • F2P Alternative: Youthful Fantasy
  • Early F2P: Shiny Days

The free options are not very strong for Akane Rin, so it's advised save enough Tri-Keys to pull her signature Far Side of the Moon, as it stacks all stats she needs to maximize her damage. It's part of why she's a top tier DPS in first place.

The closest second best option is Lacrimosa's signature, The Last Rose, which you can use only if you stopped using Lacrimosa which is not advised.

Another alternative is the Battle Pass weapon, Fluff of Fleetness which is really decent if you already buy Battle Pass. Otherwise, you would resort to using Youthful Fantasy which is just a moderate stat stick. Akane Rin will perform well, even with free weapon, but a lot of her very high ceiling prefer her signature or the Battle Pass.

If you starting the game and have nothing else, Shiny Days is the only option until you get Youthful Fantasy or something better.

Best Cartridges & Modules

  • Cartridge: Street Boxer (S)
  • Cartridge Main Stat: Lakshana DMG%
  • Substats: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / Universal DMG% / ATK%

For Akane Rin, we go for a standard ADC build as her damage has no special scaling with other stats.

Street Boxer (S) is her best-in-slot regardless if she okays a support or main DPS.

As usual, Crit on main stat can be better than elemental damage if the CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG ratio deviates a lot from 1:2 and need fixing.

Skill Priority

Skill = Ultimate = Basic Attack > Support Skill

Akane has huge multipliers on all her kit, especially enhanced skill and Ultimate. But as on-field DPS, he basic attacks are also very important, so level up all of them and leave support skill behind

How to Play

For Akane Rin, she mainly plays as on-field main DPS:

  • Apply Remora once every wave with Zero skill then swap to Akane Rin
  • Cast team buffs and apply Stain by casting Blackbird skill and swapping to Akane Rin
  • Casting her Ultimate and skill
  • Doing normal attacks until her enhanced skill flashes
  • Uses enhanced skill
  • Use the second phase of Ultimate before it expires.

On other hand, as a support for Shinku, all she need to do is apply and refresh Remora, and use her as a quick swap, or even a dead slot for passive only.

Release Date

Blackbird released in version 1.4 second half, on October 21, 2026 to Global.
