Rompopolo is a new Brute Wyvern in Monster Hunter Wilds. It roams the Oilwell Basin’s upper levels, which are covered in deep oil silt. 

It can inflate its body using oil gasses, which it can then emit directly or from beneath the ground, creating poison clouds. Rompopolo also uses its tail needle and long tongue to attack.

Rompopolo can be found in the Oilwell Basin. It prefers roaming the areas covered in oil.

Rompopolo has a variety of poison attacks. Bringing Antidotes – or its stronger version, Herbal Medicines – will be essential to avoid carting. Hunters can also slot Poison Resistance Skills to help.

Fights with Rompopolo usually happen in areas covered in deep oil silt, which hinder Hunters’ movement.

Double Arm Attack

Rompopolo can swipe its arm forward in a precise movement, after which it will always follow up with the other arm.

Deflating Rompopolo

Dealing enough damage to Rompopolo’s inflated body parts  –head, back, and tail– will trigger a knockdown.

Oilsilt Sprout

Use ignitable items at Oilsilt Sprouts –like Torch Pods– to make them burst, dealing massive damage to nearby monsters.

Poison Spray

While enraged, Rompopolo’s mouth can emit poisonous gas. This attack has a long range but can be dodged sideways. It creates an open wound for a short time.

Double Gas Explosion

Rompopolo will stick its tail onto the ground to cause gas explosions, which can cover a line or a bigger area. It can chain explosion too, so don’t stop moving.

Sit + Explosion

When Rompopolo sits on its tail, it will provoke explosions all around him. Run away to dodge.

Poison Lunge

While enraged, Rompopolo can also charge forward while emitting poisonous gas.

Ultimate Gas Explosion

Rompopolo can prepare an ultimate attack that provokes gas explosions around it over a big area. This attack can be difficult to identify, so listen to the audio cues and the danger animation on your health bar.
