League of Legends Classic is an upcoming League of Legends gamemode that takes players back to season 3 with many classic items, runes and champion designs returning. To play League of Legends Classic right now, you must have a PBE account, as it is not available on the live servers until July 29th 2026!
On the PBE, players have the opportunity to try new upcoming game modes, test new champs before they hit the live servers, and provide feedback related to changes and skins. Having access to the PBE can be great if you want to shape the way forward of League of Legends, but how exactly do you get access to the PBE?
How to Get Access to the PBE
To get access to the PBE (Public Beta Environment), you need to have a PBE account. You can sign up to get access via this link. Once you have an account and access to the PBE, you will need to download the client.
You can do this by signing out of your current LoL account and then logging in with your PBE account. It will then throw up an error saying that the game is unplayable and ask you to switch region. Follow the information, and then when you’re greeted with the Play button greyed out, click the little drop-down arrow and then you can change regions to the PBE server.

Once you download the client (which may take some time), you can log in to the PBE. It is important to note that the PBE is updated daily, so you will be doing a lot of micro updates or big updates if you haven’t logged in in a while.
How to Play LoL Classic
After logging into the PBE, you will be greeted with the hub page. Here you can play any game, such as League of Legends, LoL Classic, or TFT. If you head to the Classic Tab, you will see multiple tabs that will introduce LoL Classic to you, including Runes, Masteries and the Store to find items.

Press the Play button in the bottom-right corner, then pick your role. You should drag and drop your preferred roles in order of which you want to play. If you do not mind which one you’re given (or to get into games quicker), you can press any position and play fill.
