How to Play
AP
Nidalee is a poke-focused mid laner who excels at controlling the lane from a distance. Use Javelin Toss (Q) to constantly pressure your opponent and force them out of lane, while Primal Surge (E) keeps you healthy and provides an Attack Speed boost for trading and taking towers. Focus on farming safely and looking for opportunities to land long range spears before committing to fights.
Once you unlock Aspect of the Cougar (R), you can quickly follow up on low health targets or use Cougar Form to wave clear and reposition. As the game progresses, your goal is to soften up enemies before teamfights and eliminate squishy targets with your high burst damage.
Runes Explained
For AP
Nidalee's runes, you want to maximize your poke damage while maintaining enough defense to survive the laning phase. Magic Penetration Marks and Ability Power Quintessences greatly increase the damage of Javelin Toss (Q), making every spear much more threatening.
Armor Seals help you deal with AD champions and minion damage in lane, while Magic Resist Glyphs provide valuable protection against AP opponents throughout the game.
Masteries Explained
When playing AP
Nidalee, you should prioritize the Offense tree to maximize your poke and burst damage. The bonus Ability Power and Magic Penetration greatly increase the damage of Javelin Toss (Q), allowing you to chunk enemies from long range before fights begin. For your secondary tree, Utility is the best choice.
The extra Movement Speed and reduced Summoner Spell cooldowns help you roam more effectively, reposition in fights, and create more opportunities to land game changing spears.
