Changes for Classic
Light Binding (Q) second target is half as effective
How to Play
While playing
Lux you want to farm while poking from range. Use E to harass enemies as they go for CS, but try to avoid constantly pushing the wave without vision. At level 3, using your Q can set you up for favourable trades and even giving your jungler an easy gank opportunity.
The goal is to focus on farming towards your first AP item while slowly wearing your opponent down to get a CS lead. Once level 6, your ultimate gives you enough burst to finish low health targets from long range.
Runes Explained
For
Lux's runes, we want a combination of Ability Power and Magic Penetration to maximize the damage of her spells. Magic Penetration Marks are the best choice for increasing your damage throughout the game, while Flat Ability Power Quintessences give you a stronger early game and make your poke even more damaging.
Armor Seals and Magic Resist Glyphs provide protection against both physical and magic damage during the laning phase. If you're against a team that's heavily AD or AP, you can swap one of your defensive rune slots for more Ability Power, but keep in mind you'll be much squishier.
Masteries Explained
While playing
Lux, you can stay at a safe distance while dealing huge amounts of damage, which is why we want to max out the Offense tree and take Utility as our secondary.
Lux benefits greatly from the Offense tree thanks to the bonus Ability Power, Magic Penetration, and Cooldown Reduction, allowing her to poke more often and hit even harder.
Utility is the perfect secondary tree, giving you extra movement speed, mana regeneration, and increased buff duration, making Blue Buff even more valuable and helping you stay in lane longer.
