Mel Matchups Overview
Mel General information
Mel tips and tricks
Whenever you can, try and use your Passive on the enemy ADC or squishy Support rather than using it on minions. This will give you a health advantage over the enemy.
You need to fully understand what your
W can block and what it can’t. There are some champions you cannot use your
W against, such as Leona or Blitzcrank as their CC spells will put you closer to them.
In the mid-game, stick with your allies at all times. Do not go to ward alone as Mel is extremely squishy and easy to kill if she is caught out of position.

The Best Mel Builds, Runes and Items for Support in Emerald +
Most Popular
If you want to use the most popular Mel Support build, you should take Flash and Heal as your Summoner Spells. For runes, you should pick Arcane Comet as your keystone, followed by Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch in the primary tree, as well as Coup de Grace and Presence of Mind in the secondary tree. For rune shards, you want Ability Haste in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health Scaling in defense, though it depends on the matchup. Finally, for your items, you should build Zaz'Zak's Realmspike as your first item, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Luden's Echo. For your last 3 items, you should build Shadowflame, Liandry's Torment and finish with Zhonya's Hourglass. For the skill order, you want to stick with Q - E - W. Right now, this build has 45.1% winrate over 5 148 matches played.
Optional
Your second option for Mel Support build would be to take Flash and Heal as your Summoner Spells. The runes that this build takes advantage of are Dark Harvest as your keystone, Cheap Shot, Sixth Sense and Ultimate Hunter in the primary tree, and Manaflow Band with Scorch in the secondary tree. The shards used in this build are Adaptive Force in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health in defense. The items for the build are Zaz'Zak's Realmspike, which you should build first, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes as your second item and Luden's Echo as your third item. The rest of the items in order are Shadowflame, Rabadon's Deathcap and Zhonya's Hourglass. The skill order for this build is Q - E - W.
