Lux Matchups Overview

Lux General information

Lux tips and tricks

Stick with your team at all costs so you can siege together and poke together. Do not isolate yourself in a side lane as you’ll be an easy target for most enemies.

Before initiating a team fight, try to poke the enemy as much as you can with your abilities. Lux is a poke champion and the more damage you can do beforehand, the easier team fighting will be.

When playing against champions who can engage like Alistar or Thresh, do not use your Light BindingQ aggressively unless you’re 100% sure you’re going to hit it. Lux is rather defenceless when her Light BindingQ is down, so you need to keep it available for as long as you can.

The Best Lux Builds, Runes and Items for Support in Emerald +

Most Popular

If you want to use the most popular Lux Support build, you should take Flash and Heal as your Summoner Spells. For runes, you should pick Arcane Comet as your keystone, followed by Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch in the primary tree, as well as Cheap Shot and Ultimate Hunter in the secondary tree. For rune shards, you want Adaptive Force in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health Scaling in defense, though it depends on the matchup. Finally, for your items, you should build Zaz'Zak's Realmspike as your first item, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Luden's Companion. For your last 3 items, you should build Stormsurge, Shadowflame and finish with Rabadon's Deathcap. For the skill order, you want to stick with E - Q - W. Right now, this build has 50.1% winrate over 11 504 matches played.

Optional

Your second option for Lux Support build would be to take Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells. The runes that this build takes advantage of are Dark Harvest as your keystone, Cheap Shot, Eyeball Collection and Ultimate Hunter in the primary tree, and Manaflow Band with Transcendence in the secondary tree. The shards used in this build are Adaptive Force in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health Scaling in defense. The items for the build are Zaz'Zak's Realmspike, which you should build first, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes as your second item and Luden's Companion as your third item. The rest of the items in order are Stormsurge, Shadowflame and Rabadon's Deathcap. The skill order for this build is E - Q - W. In the current patch, this build has a 49.3% win rate over 1 498 matches.

Alternative

If you're looking for alternatives, you can use Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells, with runes being Arcane Comet as your keystone, Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch in the primary tree, and Cheap Shot with Ultimate Hunter in the secondary tree, as well as Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling as your rune shards. The items that this build incorporates are Celestial Opposition as your first item, then Sorcerer's Shoes as a second item and Luden's Companion as a third item. You want to finish the build with Stormsurge, Shadowflame and Vigilant Wardstone. As far as ability max order goes, you want to keep it E - Q - W. This build is currently sitting at a 47.5% win rate across 423 matches played.

Off-Meta

If you want to try an Off-Meta Lux Support build in the current patch, try Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells, First Strike, Magical Footwear, Biscuit Delivery and Cosmic Insight as your primary rune tree, and Cheap Shot with Zombie Ward as your secondary tree. Use Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force and Health Scaling as your shards. For items in this build, you want to complete Zaz'Zak's Realmspike as your first item, then finish Sorcerer's Shoes as your second item, and Luden's Companion as third item. The last 3 options are Stormsurge, Rabadon's Deathcap and Zhonya's Hourglass. The ability order for this build is E - Q - W. As of the current patch, this build has a 53.5% win rate over 155 matches played.

Situational Lux Runes and Items

Depending on the context of your game, your matchup, and enemy champions, you might want to consider building some situational items or take specific runes. Carefully examine your team, enemy team, game state , and your matchup to plan your Lux build accordingly! For example, when it comes to rune shards, you might want to take either Armor or Magic Resist, depending on which champion you are about to lane against.

Furthermore, if you want a more detailed breakdown, you should also check out Lux runes page.
