He has lots of AOE tools in his kit. This makes him great in team fights.
Unlike some champions in LoL, Hwei has built-in CC, which is helpful when it comes to making plays and getting picks.
He has many abilities, making him a unique and fun champion.
However, a disadvantage to him having a lot of abilities is that it can make him quite complicated and overwhelming for players.
He also has a lot of combos in his kit, which makes him quite difficult to master. He is a challenging champion for beginners to learn from.
When he is behind, he isn’t that good. While he does have AOE and a lot of damage, he does nothing in fights when behind.
0 - 15 min
Abuse your range in the early game versus squishy and melee champions.
At level 6, you should look for fights with your Jungler in either the mid or side lanes.
Play safe until you’re level 3, where you get access to your primary abilities and can fight far more favourably.
15 - 25 min
After your bottom lane has rotated to the mid lane, go to the side lane, apply pressure, and start laning in the side lane instead. Make sure you place deep wards and vision to protect you from ganks.
You will be pretty strong in the mid-game as you’re good in team fights. Thus, you should look to team fights with your teammates during this game stage.
In the mid-game, other champions will be stronger than you (even though you will be good too). With this in mind, if you’re facing an assassin or someone with strong all-in or chase potential, focus on pushing the waves with your abilities and then falling back.
25+ min
Stay with your team in the late game so you do not get caught out of position and die due to low mobility.
Look for picks with your allies. Don’t be afraid to use your R to get picks with them. You also have CC tools, so don’t be afraid to try to make plays as long as your allies can follow up.
You’re good at fighting around objectives, so try to make plays with your R around these major objectives in the late game.
Your first power spike is at level 3, where you can access all your basic abilities.
When you hit level 6, you will unlock your R. You can start playing more aggressively with your R and get your Jungler to gank your lane, too.
When you get your first component item, your damage output will increase, and your chances of winning trades will dramatically increase.
At level 9, you will max out your first ability. This ability’s damage will increase significantly at this stage, which will help you win fights.
You’re good in team fights due to your AOE abilities. Teams will be grouped in the mid-game so that you will be strong at this game stage.
At level 11, you’ll put an additional point in your R. Use this advantage to get picks in the mid-game.
In the late game, you would’ve completed multiple items and got a lot of levels under your belt. You will be strong in the late game, too.
At level 16, you’ll put the final point in your R, giving your R a shorter cooldown and increasing your chances of getting picks.
Stick with your team in the late game! Hwei is excellent in late-game fights, thanks to his AOE abilities and late-game damage output.
