Galio Matchups Overview
Galio General information
Galio tips and tricks
Always play respectfully once you hit level 6. Your Ultimate
R is pure utility and it cannot be used in a skirmish as effectively as most Supports.
Use the bushes in lane to get a surprise engage off on the enemy. Bursting them down will make the next few minutes of the laning phase much easier.
You can use your Ultimate
R to impact your mid lane with your Jungler. But before roaming, make sure your ADC will be safe from an all-in.

The Best Galio Builds, Runes and Items for Support in Emerald +
Most Popular
If you want to use the most popular Galio Support build, you should take Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells. For runes, you should pick Aftershock as your keystone, followed by Shield Bash, Bone Plating and Unflinching in the primary tree, as well as Nimbus Cloak and Transcendence in the secondary tree. For rune shards, you want Adaptive Force in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health Scaling in defense, though it depends on the matchup. Finally, for your items, you should build Celestial Opposition as your first item, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Locket of the Iron Solari. For your last 3 items, you should build Redemption, Frozen Heart and finish with Vigilant Wardstone. For the skill order, you want to stick with W - E - Q. Right now, this build has 49.6% winrate over 1 623 matches played.
Alternative
If you're looking for alternatives, you can use Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells, with runes being Aftershock as your keystone, Shield Bash, Second Wind and Overgrowth in the primary tree, and Biscuit Delivery with Cosmic Insight in the secondary tree, as well as Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling as your rune shards. The items that this build incorporates are Zaz'Zak's Realmspike as your first item, then Plated Steelcaps as a second item and Locket of the Iron Solari as a third item. You want to finish the build with Thornmail, Frozen Heart and Redemption. As far as ability max order goes, you want to keep it W - E - Q. This build is currently sitting at a 47.7% win rate across 65 matches played.
Off-Meta
If you want to try an Off-Meta Galio Support build in the current patch, try Flash and Heal as your Summoner Spells, Unsealed Spellbook, Hextech Flashtraption, Biscuit Delivery and Cosmic Insight as your primary rune tree, and Nimbus Cloak with Celerity as your secondary tree. Use Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force and Health as your shards. For items in this build, you want to complete Celestial Opposition as your first item, then finish Mercury's Treads as your second item, and Redemption as third item. The last 3 options are Locket of the Iron Solari, Thornmail and Knight's Vow. The ability order for this build is W - E - Q. As of the current patch, this build has a 42.9% win rate over 63 matches played.
Situational Galio Runes and Items
Depending on the context of your game, your matchup, and enemy champions, you might want to consider building some situational items or take specific runes. Carefully examine your team, enemy team, game state , and your matchup to plan your Galio build accordingly! For example, when it comes to rune shards, you might want to take either Armor or Magic Resist, depending on which champion you are about to lane against.
