Gamer Performance Index Explained

The Gamer Performance Index (GPI) uses in-game data to analyze and improve player performance across several critical areas of competitive gaming.

While you focus on playing, we gather all your data and crunch it through our machine learning algorithms in order to give you a multifaceted assessment of your game.

How does it work?

How GPI works?

Our GPI scores eight critical areas of your play on a scale from 0 to 100. Using these scores, we’re able to define your play style and pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, our goal is to go above and beyond the simple statistical numbers that other sites give and provide you with personalized insights to level up your game.

Skill Distribution

If you are curious as to how your scores measure up to everyone else, the closer you are to zero the more like a Bronze player you are at that skill. On the opposite end, a score of 100 puts you at the top of your game, like the best Challenger players.


Remember that Lol is a complicated game – being able to farm like Doublelift doesn’t necessarily translate to playing like him.

Fighting

Fighting represents your performance and participation in team fights and skirmishes. It’s calculated based on your kills and assists, the damage you deal and receive, fight frequency, positioning, and decision making during trades and skirmishes.

why we focus on it

This takes into account your average kills and assists per match.

Kills and Assists

Measures percentage of kills and assists you contribute to your team’s total.

Kill Participation

Measures how well you trade in lane. Make sure you get the better end of the deal!

Lane Performance

Measures frequency and timing of your deaths in fights you are involved in. In other words, we know how often you get caught...so stop it.

Team Fight Survivability

Measures how well you perform your role in team fights while avoiding death. Can you dance like Bjerg and Zven?

Positioning

When you take resources like items and gold out of the equation, the true essence of the game is Fighting. It's the "meat" of the game - the part that separates the good from the great. It’s hard to be great at a game centered around engaging the enemy if you can’t hold your own!

Farming

Farming represents your gold earning efficiency during the game by killing minions, enemy champions, and winning objectives. Well, how rich are you?

why we focus on it

Measures your average CS per minute, gold per minute, and experience per minute in the Early Game.

Early Game

Measures your average CS per minute, gold per minute, and experience per minute in the Mid Game.

Mid Game

Measures your average CS per minute, gold per minute, and experience per minute in the Late Game.

Late Game

Measures your average CS, CS per minute, and percentage of CS you collect.

Creep Score

Measures your average gold per minute and percentage of the match’s gold you collect.

Gold

You might be the greatest fighter in the world, but if you come into fights at a resource disadvantage, you will lose to opponents of similar skill level. It’s nothing personal, just math. Like pieces in chess or timeouts in sports, understanding resource management is crucial in ALL games of skill.

Vision

Vision represents your ability to control the map by placing and denying wards, and analyzes how well you can process and react to the minimap events.

why we focus on it

Measures your average Wards placed, average Wards per minute, and the average percentage of Wards you place for the match’s total amount.

Wards Placed

Measures your average Wards cleared, average Wards cleared per minute, and the average percentage of Wards you clear for the match’s total amount.

Wards Cleared

Measures your average Wards bought in Early game, Late game, and per minute.

Map Awareness

Understanding how to use and abuse vision is critical to your success as a League player. Capitalizing accurate information on enemy positioning and movements is what makes great players seem clairvoyant to their lesser counterparts!

Aggression

Aggression represents how often you tend to act aggressively. Examples include: ganking, harassing, diving, skirmishing, team fighting, and being involved in early objectives and kills. Using offensive masteries and purchasing offensive items during the game also impacts your Aggression skill.

why we focus on it

Takes into account your raw damage, damage per minute, and the percentage of damage you deal.

Damage

Measures how good your ninja skills are in roaming and getting the jump on your opponents.

Ganking

Measures your tendency to engage in 1v1 and how often you emerge victorious. Feeling lucky punk?

Solo Play

Measures how aggressive your lane presence is and how well you deny your opponent’s resources when ahead.

Zoning

Measures how much pressure you exert in games you play, specifically your initiative early on.

Pressure

Evaluates how aggressively you select your items, runes, and masteries.

Offensive Build

Aggression is a hallmark of many great players in all competitive pursuits, from business to sports. Quantifying and understanding your Aggression and that of others can help you control the flow of the game.

Toughness

Toughness represents how difficult you are to kill by measuring how well you take a beating while avoiding deaths and ganks. Using defensive builds and items during the game also impacts your toughness skill.

why we focus on it

Measures how well you protect your tower and your ability to not get bullied if behind. You’ve gotta stand your ground eventually.

Lane Defense

Measures how often you make a glorious sacrifice for the team versus how often you die meaninglessly. For the cause!

Discernment

Evaluates how defensively you select your items, runes, and masteries.

Defensive Build

This takes into account your damage taken, damage taken per minute, and the average damage % you take.

Damage Taken

This takes into account your average deaths per match and the average percentage of deaths per match you contribute.

Deaths

Measures how vulnerable you are when a wild summoner appears.

Gank Susceptibility

No matter how good a player is, they will get beat up and knocked down depending on your role, it may actually be your job to get beat on). But one thing is true for everyone - dying unnecessarily and taking worthless damage will drag your game down. This score is here to help you minimize your mistakes, and maximize when it’s appropriate to take the hit for your team.

Teamplay

Teamplay represents how well you collaborate with your teammates. This skill is calculated by factoring in your positional role, your ability to assist in kills, team fight participation, and overall game contribution.

why we focus on it

Measures your contribution to the team’s warding and sweeping. You are doing this…right?

Ward Participation

Measures the number of assists you contribute to the team's total assist pool.

Assist Participation

Measures your participation in the total teamfights throughout the match. Are you there for your squad when you should be?

Team Fight Participation

Measures your focus and participation at objectives. It’s not about the kills, objectives are what will ultimately win you the game.

Objective Play

Measures how much you heal/shield yourself and allies.

Utility

Measures how many kills you claim without contributing meaningfully to fights. This is NOT a “getting the last hit on champions” score!

Kill Stealing

So you're a hotshot, and can take anyone one on one. If there were five of you, you would win this game no problem! Too bad there aren't and this is a team game - how you play with others is critical to success and improvement.

Consistency

Consistency represents your ability to play consistently while maintaining optimal performance in spite of difficult circumstances, such as being on a losing streak or playing from behind. Overall, we want to find out how regularly you deliver on your expected goals.

why we focus on it

Measures how consistent your laning phase (CS, deaths, warding..etc) of the game is.

Laning

Measures how consistent your in-game performance is across all games you have played.

Performance

Measures your ability to consistently play well from behind and make comebacks. Cue “Eye of the Udyr,” I mean, “Tiger”.

Comeback

Measures your aptitude at throwing games when you are significantly ahead. That’s right…“aptitude”.

Throw

Measures how much losses and poor play affect your continued performance. You mad bro?

Tilt

Everyone has a great game once in a while, but what separates the good players from the great players is building a mindset of good habits that allows them to consistently perform in difficult situations. Oh, and by the way - we can also tell if you are consistently performing poorly...

Versatility

Versatility represents the breadth of your ability as a player. It shows how well you adapt to new circumstances and the tools at your disposal to handle the ever-evolving meta.

why we focus on it

Measures your selection of item builds and how versatile your build orders are.

Item Builds

This measures your ability to play well in all phases of the game: early, mid, and late.

Phase Play

Measures your ability to play well in both winning and losing situations. Hey, nobody wins every game /shrug.

Steadiness

This is the ultimate manifestation of you as a player. Do you have the near-perfect style like Faker?

Play Style

In a game that changes as much as LoL does, it’s important to be versatile. Measuring adaptability and helping our players understand how the diversity of their toolset can help them overcome difficult situations is crucial for personal growth.
