A Basic Breakdown of Emberville's Character Stats and Leveling System
Emberville is an upcoming dark-fantasy-style ARPG created by the studio Cygnus Cross and the creator CohhCarnage. As you explore the game, kill mobs and bosses, make friends with the townspeople and help to rebuild the town, you will earn XP, which you can use to level up and expand and improve your character.
In this guide, we'll cover the Masteries and Leveling System in Emberville. Levelling up your Masteries is a way to increase your knowledge of a particular skill or ability.
How to Level Masteries in Emberville
You will naturally progress in each of the proficiencies in the game just by playing and interacting with each component or weapon. There isn’t really a fast way to level most of them up, but it is a good idea to keep an idea of what you're prioritising and what your favourite weapon/load out is.
Mastery Upgrades
There are 4 key categories in Emberville's Mastery system. This includes Weapons, Armors, Gathering and Crafting.
Weapon Masteries
Each Weapon belongs to a certain category, including Swords, Bows, Knuckles and Magic Staves (with more coming in future updates).
You can hover over a weapon to see your current level, how much XP you have, what skills you’ve unlocked and much more. You can level up by using the weapon in combat and getting kills with it. The higher the level, the more skills you will unlock, which are basically combos you can use or extra stats.
Similarly, Bows allow you to fire multiple shots and gain extra attack speed and damage while using your Bows, among other things.
Armor Masteries
Each of the 4 Armor slots also has additional bonuses or skills for you to unlock. The main categories are Medium, Light, Heavy and Mixed. Depending on your levelling, you might not unlock Light, Heavy or Mixed until a bit later into the game.
Some of the different skills include extra defensive bonuses to make it harder for you to die in fights.
Farming Masteries
Farming requires you to level up your Herbalism, Farming, Fishing, Mining, Smelting and Woodcutting. Out of all of the Masteries we have discussed so far, this is probably the easiest to max out, as you could focus on completing these quickly by heading to the town and doing repetitive tasks.
In the early version of Emberville, there is no information about the bonuses they give.
Crafting Masteries
Finally, Crafting Masteries include Alchemy, Armorsmithing, Carpentry, Cooking, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Tailoring and Weaponsmithing. These will require you to craft a certain amount of resources, such as food items, making enough potions and other resources before you can progress.
In the early version of Emberville, there is no information about the bonuses they give.
Leveling Up
Whenever you earn enough XP, you can level up, and with each level increase, you gain 2 stat points that you can use to improve your abilities and character.
At the top of the screen, you have your current XP bar, your current stats including health, defence, and damage, and below are your attributes and stats. After every level up, you can add 2 points to one of the 6 categories: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, Stamina and Luck.
Strength
Putting points in Strength improves your crit damage bonus and block amount. It increases your damage for strength-based weapons. Putting early points in Strength will help you with early-round bosses and enemies!
Dexterity
Dexterity improves your attack rate and dodge chance. It improves the damage for Dexterity-based weapons (like the Bow). This could be a good option if you love to play with the Bow early on.
Intelligence
Leveling up your Intelligence improves skills and spell damage. It also reduces damage from burn, shock, poison, freeze and bleed, which are going to be really impactful in those mini-bosses and enemies fights. It increases the damage of Intelligence-based weapons.
Wisdom
Wisdom improves the total Kymia that can be used to cast spells and use skills. It increases Kymia regen, which is crucial if you love to spam spells. Kymia is one of the main spell-weaving resource elements in the game, so if you want to have more of a mage-playstyle, then you may want to put more points into this later in the game.
Stamina
Stamina is really simple- it increases your health and defence, which makes it harder for you to die versus mobs and bosses. It's not worth prioritising this early; raw damage is usually better early on in ARPG games.
Luck
Finally, we have Luck! It improves crit chance, counterattack chance and block chance. It also increases and improves drop quality. You will not want to prioritise this early at all as it doesn't really impact your early gameplay and you need other raw stats like Strength or Dexterity.
After leveling up your preferred skill, you will see the stats at the bottom change!
Make sure you put points where they match your playstyle, as it is crucial as you expand into the game and face more enemies and rebuild the town as it once was.
