Advanced Tips & Tricks You Need to Know About Palworld 1.0

Whether you’ve put hundreds of hours into Palworld or you’ve just bought the game, there are a lot of things you can do to make your experience more enjoyable and slightly easier. In this guide, we will discuss several advanced tips and tricks to make your experience in the game a little bit better.

You first get access to the base Fishing Pond at level 31, but the best one is the Large Fishing Pond, which you unlock at level 69, as it can give you a lot of things that can passively grow in your base without having you go out of your way to fish.

You can simply load up on Deluxe Bait and get a Pal with high Handywork, like Anubis, to do the work for you. While you may not get the greatest things or Pals from doing this, especially early on and at a lower-level Pond, it can be quite good during the mid-game and when you have a better Pond, and it will save time instead of going out and finding it yourself.

You could put 100 High Quality Bait into this as you load into your game, do your thing, and then replace it with 100 High Quality Bait as you finish the game, so you keep getting rewards.

Condensing Pals is a mechanic in the game that can make your strongest Pal even stronger. By sacrificing duplicate Pals, you can make a Pal stronger and make their Passive Skill better. For instance, if you have a 1-star Pal, sacrificing multiple duplicate Pals can give it additional levels, EXP, stars and work suitability.

Due to the lack of a search bar in Palworld, you need to create Party Pal presets to quickly switch between parties. By having multiple setups, you can easily switch to different Pal Parties when needed.

For instance, if you’re going to start fishing, you can quickly switch to a Fishing Pal Party to get the bonuses and make Fishing more efficient.

Expeditions might not look too good early on, but the more you get into the game, you will realise how important doing Expeditions is. While on Expedition, you can get extra bonuses and rewards that are quite difficult to find. For instance, Coralum Ore can be hard to find, but it is a reward on an Expedition.

Auto-assign Pals to complete Expeditions while you’re doing other things. For instance, you can assign all your spare Pals at the start before you’re about to do a mission, so they’re busy while you’re doing something else. You can also do this just as you’re about to log off for the night as well.

You can exclude certain Pals from going on an Expedition by pressing the Exclusion Button and clicking your favourite Pals. If you have already prioritised your Pals, you can exclude them from the list and then easily remove them.

You should be doing research as much as you can. Depending on where you are in the game, your research might be slightly different. In the early game, Resource Gathering or Handiwork will most likely take priority, but building into Expedition Rewards or Completion Time Quickness are good alternatives as well. 

There are many options for researching and completing upgrades. Each time you complete research, all your present, past and future Pals will receive the benefits. For instance, if you complete Lumbering level 3, your Workspeed for Lumbering will increase.

We highly advise reading each research line and tree and taking the routes that feel best for you. There are so many different options and paths you can take.

Work Modes

Work Modes are a way to command your Pals to do their work. There are 4 options: Relaxed, Normal, Hard and Super Hard Work. If you’re going to bed or not playing the game for a while, you could set the Pals to Relaxed work so they complete the work slowly, but do not run out of Hunger or anything else. The harder you work the Pals, the quicker they will run out of Hunger and SAN.

Work Preferences

You can also set each Pal to complete only certain tasks or perform specific actions in the Work Preference section. Maybe you want a Pal to just do Handiwork and Watering and nothing else. So, turning off all the other options, such as Transporting. This means that the Pal will only do things it is assigned to do and nothing else. 

Whenever you spawn a new Pal in, it will do any of the tasks that are assigned to it in the Work Preference section. If you just want it to focus on completing 1 or 2 things, make sure you turn everything else off.

Assignment Board

You can also assign tasks on the Assignment Board for your Pals to complete. They will prioritise completing these tasks over doing anything else in the game.

Post-level 50, the game slows down, and gaining EXP can be harder and more time-consuming. This is why it is recommended to push for your towers so you can start getting lots of EXP, items, and more.

You should not avoid pushing the Towers, as it might feel like you’re completing the game quickly, but that isn’t the case. There is lots of replayability in mind when the game was designed, and actually prioritising these will help you progress.

When you get Tech Points, there is no rush to spend them all at once. You should save up your Tech Points for as long as possible until you find a major upgrade that you like. For example, holding on to some Tech Points will allow you to unlock something that requires more Tech Points later on in the game.

You can also unlock and craft things from the Tech Tree with Schematics. The Schematics let you craft things without consuming the Tech Points required to unlock them. 

It is a good idea not to unlock everything as you play through the game; otherwise, you’ll end up having to go boss hunting, spend your time fishing or go without the Tech Points until you get more.

Food Consumption in Palworld is something you have to master, especially in the mid-game. You need to look for Pals who give you the most bang for your buck, and find the balance between what they bring to the table in terms of attributes and how much food they require. For instance, the Pals working with you should require as little food as possible. 

However, you do need to find the balance, as just opting for the ones with the lowest needs will mean they spend more time constantly eating. Good options include Jellroy, Jelliette, Amione, Prunelia, Vaelet and Petallia 

You can further increase the Workspeed, the Plant Growth, and the Yield by tapping into the Planting Research Tree, and it’s the same for Watering.

Getting additional Pal storage is a good option as you progress deeper into the game. It can be easy to get overwhelmed with the insane number of Pals you will collect as you progress, so having additional Pal storage is a must. 

You can create this storage unit by heading into the Pals section, and it is under Dimensional Pal Storage. The cool thing about this unit is that you can share Pals with your friends on the same server, or from one save to another.

Creating a specialized base where you focus on just making or doing 1 thing is a good strategy in Palworld. You can create a variety of bases that just do one thing. For example, you could setup a base to just produce Crude Oil, or another base that just does Breeding.

You can create very simple specialized bases that have the bare minimum, but all the hardware needed to start harvesting and producing the specialized things you need from it.

The Guild Chest is one of the strongest things you can build in Palworld, as it can allow you to move things from wherever you are on the map. You can put things in there such as food, which can be consumed at the specialized base or any other base.

You can also put things like raw materials in these chests if you think you will need them at the specialized base. 

The good thing about using Pals to automate things is that they can put things in the Guild Chest for you to collect. For example, if you have it set up so the Pal deposits Crude Oil in the chest from a Crude Oil farm, then you can see them in the Guild Chest without having to visit that base and collect everything yourself.

For the final tip, it is crucial that you salvage everything you possibly can. You can do this with a normal fishing rod for the many early game salvage spots, but as you progress into the mid-game, you should get the Powerful Fishing Magnet as this will salvage more items from each spot. Note that it will consume the Powerful Fishing Magnet each time.

You will also want to set up a party that makes Salvaging more effective. 

Try to condense Jellroy if you can, so you can get it to a high level, so it improves the % rate of items obtained from salvaging!
