Palworld 1.0: How to Farm Crude Oil

Crude Oil is a mid-to-late game resource in Palworld. Setting up a Crude Oil base in Palworld is relatively straightforward but could cause a bottleneck for some players. You need to harvest Crude Oil, as it is a resource used to craft high-level gear, advanced crafting materials, and items like Plasteel and Missile Ammo.

Crude Oil is found in many different places on the map. If you zoom in, you can already see lots of little black dots (the Crude Oil) on the map. Some of the other locations include the house on Mount Obsidian, which has several Oil patches, the Dessicated Desert, and the Terraria Island in the bottom right of the map.

Sakurajima - Mushroom Wetlands (-472, 135)

The Sakurajima Mushroom Wetlands have large black patches on the map, which are large Oil patches.

To extract oil, you need a Crude Oil Extractor, which can be found in the Production section, under Lumbering/Mining. It is built from Pal Metal Ingot (500) and Circuit Board (50). You need to place the Oil Extractor on the edge of the Oil spot to start extracting Oil.

However, you can place multiple Crude Oil Extractors on one Oil spot, as long as they are placed side by side on the Oil spot, not directly in the middle. You will want to place 2 per Oil spot to optimise the output.

You have 3 main power sources in Palworld, up until level 50. These are the Power Generator, the Human-Powered Generator, and the Large Power Generator. You eventually want to get the Large Power Generator for the +3/s power generation efficiency. The Pals will fill the Power Generators.

The other generators do not give much power generation efficiency. This is where having high Generating Electricity Pals comes in.
