Use your favourite features in-game with our Desktop AppThe Pufferfish is the main boss of the Desert Island and one of the biggest difficulty increases in How to Fish. It attacks using fast rolling charges before growing larger and leaving purple poison around the island later in the battle.
You need the Carrot from the Tourist to summon it. Defeating the Pufferfish and returning its Fin will unlock the coordinates for the next island.

Find the Tourist sitting beneath a palm tree on the Desert Island. He will ask you to bring him an endangered creature.
Use the pink Standard Lure to catch fish around the island and inspect each catch. You are looking for any creature marked Endangered, with the Seahorse confirmed to work.
Take the endangered catch to the Tourist and he will give you the Carrot, which is the bait required to summon the Pufferfish.
Do not cast the Carrot until you are ready. Before beginning the fight, bring:
The SMG is a strong option for this battle, especially when paired with an Extended Magazine and Compensator. However, it is not mandatory, and another upgraded ranged weapon can still defeat the boss.
The Carrot is consumed when used. If you lose the battle, you will need to catch another endangered creature and exchange it for a replacement.
Equip the Carrot and cast it into the water surrounding the Desert Island. The Pufferfish will appear immediately, so be prepared to move towards one of the nearby palm trees.
Keep an eye on the white bar beneath the boss’s health. This is the escape timer, and you must defeat the Pufferfish before it runs out.
Keep a palm tree between you and the Pufferfish. Its main attack sends it rolling forward in a straight line, but the tree can interrupt its path.
Circle around the same tree while keeping enough distance to avoid becoming trapped against the trunk. Fire while the Pufferfish is turning or trying to reposition, then move back behind the tree before its next charge.
Later in the battle, the Pufferfish grows larger and begins leaving purple poison behind it. Continue using the trees for cover, but widen your movement and avoid crossing the poison.
Once the Pufferfish has been defeated, check every item it drops. You need to collect the Pufferfish Fin, which resembles part of the fish with an exposed bone.
Do not take the ordinary Meat Chunks to the Tourist, as he will not accept them. Carry the Pufferfish Fin back to him instead, and he will give you the coordinates for the next island.
