Use your favourite features in-game with our Desktop AppThe Giant Piranha is the main boss of the second island. Defeating it and returning its Skeleton to the woman beside the lake rewards you with the coordinates needed to continue towards the third island.
Before starting, you should have the Modified Leech and a reliable ranged weapon. If you still need either of these, check out our How to Fish Forest Island walkthrough.
Collect three Leeches from the Forest Island and give them to the woman beside the lake. She will turn them into the Modified Leech required to summon the boss.
Equip the Modified Leech on your fishing rod and cast it into the lake. Reeling it in will bring the Giant Piranha onto the island and immediately begin the fight.
Make sure you have eaten and equipped your weapon before casting, as you will not have much time to prepare once the boss appears.
Keep moving around the open area and fire whenever you have a clear shot. Unlike the Spider Crab, the Giant Piranha does not become stunned and give you an obvious damage window.
When it jumps or lunges towards you, move sideways to avoid its bite. Do not repeatedly move backwards in a straight line, as this makes it easier for the boss and its smaller Piranhas to surround you.
The Shotgun works well when the Giant Piranha gets close, but avoid standing still while trying to line up the perfect shot. Create some distance whenever you need to reload before returning your attention to the boss.
Several smaller Piranhas will appear during the fight. They deal limited damage individually but can quickly overwhelm you as a group.
Clear the ones blocking your movement before focusing on the boss again. Brass Knuckles can be useful for dealing with nearby Piranhas without wasting Shotgun ammunition.
You do not need to chase every smaller Piranha across the island. Only clear enough to give yourself room to move and continue damaging the boss.
Lastly, A great tip is that you can eat the smaller Piranhas to restore your health or hunger.
The white bar beneath the Giant Piranha’s health is its escape timer. If it expires, the boss will disappear and you will need to obtain and use the bait again.
Keep dealing damage whenever it is safe, but do not let the timer pressure you into standing still and trading bites with the boss.
Collect the Giant Piranha Skeleton after defeating the boss and return it to the woman beside the lake. She will give you the coordinates for the third island.
Return to your boat and check the Radar for the new marker to continue your journey.
