Overview

Hidden weapons and gear in Crimson Desert’s Charting the Unknown DLC can be found in buried island chests, caves behind waterfalls and underwater passages. These rewards include weapons with innate combat bonuses, useful armour, an accessory, a ship figurehead blueprint and equipment for bear mounts.

This collection covers ten rewards and explains where to look, how to access each location and what makes the equipment useful. Bring a shovel for buried treasure and prepare your diving equipment before attempting the deeper underwater locations.

If you still need a vessel for travelling between islands, our Crimson Desert ship guide explains how to get started.

How to Get the Silverwave Longsword

The Silverwave Longsword is inside a buried treasure chest on the northern part of Navra Island’s eastern coast.

Travel to the location marked below and use a shovel to uncover the chest. Open it to collect the weapon.

This ornate two-handed sword focuses on attack speed. Its main appeal is its appearance and suitability for an attack-speed-focused setup, rather than an unusual innate effect.

Keep the shovel with you after collecting it, as several other rewards in this collection also come from buried chests.

Where to Find the Spiral Spear

The Spiral Spear is buried on the eastern side of Ocula Island, in the southeastern part of the ocean.

Use the map marker below to locate the treasure, then dig up the chest with a shovel and open it.

The spear has natural critical rate and comes with Abyss Gear already fitted. Its notable innate bonus is 2% stamina cost reduction, which belongs to the weapon itself rather than its equipped gears.

That extra effect is worth considering when comparing the spear with other two-handed options.

Finding the Chain Breaking Wolf Figurehead Blueprint

The Chain-Breaking Wolf Figurehead blueprint is inside a cave behind a waterfall on the southern side of Samora Island.

Look for the small water inlet shown below and approach the waterfall at its end. Use a thrust attack to pass through the waterfall, then enter the cave and open the chest.

The chest contains the blueprint, so you still need to craft the figurehead after collecting it.

Once made and equipped, the figurehead provides 1,000 additional ship health, making it a useful reward for improving your vessel’s durability.

How to Get the Naval Officer’s Hat

The Naval Officer’s Hat is found on the ground at a high peak on Samora Island. It is not inside a treasure chest.

Head to the peak marked below and climb to the top. Search the summit for the hat and pick it up directly.

Alongside its fitted defensive gear, the hat has two innate effects:

  • Lightning Resistance 1
  • 20% chance not to consume arrows

The arrow-saving effect makes it particularly interesting if you regularly use a bow and want that benefit from your head slot.

Where to Find the Elegant Black Amber Earring

The Elegant Black Amber Earring is inside a treasure chest in another waterfall cave on Samora Island.

Go to the waterfall marked below and approach its base. Use a thrust attack to move through the water, then enter the cave and open the chest.

The earring provides critical rate, giving you another equipment slot from which to obtain an offensive stat.

It is worth collecting if you want more flexibility when balancing your weapons, armour and accessories around critical hits.

How to Get the Bear Dverkhan Armor

The Bear Dverkhan Armor is found in a chest behind a waterfall on Samora Island. This equipment is for a bear mount, rather than your character.

Locate the water inlet marked below and find its waterfall. Pass through with a thrust attack, enter the hidden cave and open the chest.

The armour’s listed bonuses are:

  • 600 health
  • 23 attack
  • 120 defense

This is another useful stop while exploring Samora Island, particularly if you already use a bear mount.

How to Get the Deepwater Carapace Helm

The Deepwater Carapace Helm is inside a chest in Great Ocean’s Scar Cave, deep beneath the ocean.

Begin near the E in the map label Trench, using the marker below to identify the dive location. Descend through the area filled with glowing jellyfish, following them towards the seabed.

Once you reach the bottom, swim south until you find the cave entrance. Enter Great Ocean’s Scar Cave and open the chest to collect the helmet.

The helm combines 2% increased swim speed with an oxygen-time bonus, making it useful for underwater exploration.

Prepare your breathing equipment before attempting the descent. Our underwater exploration guide explains oxygen management, while our Relic Exchange vendor guide covers places to obtain diving equipment and breathing upgrades.

Where to Find the Guardian’s Horn

The Guardian’s Horn is inside a buried chest on Cloven Hoof Isle, east of Delesyia.

Head to the southern of the two land masses shown below. Use a shovel at the marked location to uncover the chest, then open it to claim the weapon.

This one-handed blunt weapon has natural critical rate and attack speed. It also provides an innate 4% bonus damage against mighty foes.

The bonus comes from the weapon itself, giving you an additional effect alongside its other stats and equipped gears.

Unearthing the Wailing Sea Greathammer

The Wailing Sea Greathammer is inside a buried chest on the northwestern side of Red Hangs Island, near the Delesyia coast.

Travel to the marked location, dig up the chest with your shovel and open it to collect the weapon.

This is a two-handed weapon for Oongka. Kliff cannot use it, so keep the character restriction in mind before making the trip.

The greathammer has natural critical rate and an innate Spirit cost reduction effect, making it another option to consider when preparing Oongka’s equipment.

How to Get the Chain Anchor Mace

The Chain Anchor Mace is inside a chest beneath a breakable rock in shallow water, among the small land masses between the Great Trench and the hydrothermal vents.

Travel to the water location marked below and dive beneath the surface. Find the rock covering the chest and use Force Palm to break it.

Open the exposed chest to obtain the mace.

The weapon has natural critical rate and an innate 12% bonus damage against mighty foes. It also comes with Abyss Gear already fitted, with the innate damage bonus providing an additional reason to consider it for your loadout.
