Must Know Starting Tips For Big Walk

Overview

The newest title from developer House House is here, tasking a group of friends to explore an open world as they solve deep puzzles, challenges, and more. In this guide we'll go over some key tips you'll need to survive out in the wilderness of Big Walk!

Lobby Size Affects Puzzles

For a game centered around teamwork, it's important to make sure that at all times your team actually has the ability to work. A majorly important detail in Big Walk is that depending on your party size, not all puzzles will spawn if you don't have the playercount set correctly in your lobby.

This is because some puzzles require 4 players, and as such a party of 2 would not be able to complete them if they spawned within the world. So if you're playing in a duo team, make sure the lobby size reflects that, or you may see puzzles in your game that are too hard to complete.

How To Change Your Look

As fun as it is to explore the open-world with your chosen friend group, looking stylish is also extremely important in Big Walk. Sadly, you can't change the look of your avatar from a menu or lobby like most games nowadays. Instead, you'll have to change it within the actual world.

To do this, simply head over to the building not far from spawn that has a paint palette and mirror. You cannot paint yourself, so get a friend to help instead. This is the game's way of teaching you about being okay with relying on the help of others, even for something as simple as changing your look.

Get A Light Source Fast

The day and night cycles of Big Walk elapse extremely fast compared to most games, so lights are important for your progression. When first starting out, try your best to either locate a flashlight in the world, or keep an eye out for carryable lanterns that can be used to illuminate your path in the darkness.

Failure to do so will most likely end with you quite literally fumbling around in the dark, which is not ideal at all for a game set on cliffsides. Remember that this is a team based game, so spread this tip (and others) to your friend group who can hopefully keep their eyes peeled in addition to yourself.

Use Hand Gestures To Solve Puzzles

If your current plan is to go into Big Walk and talk your way to the finish, know that this won't always work (unless you cheat with Discord!)

Not all puzzles in the game can be solved verbally, and as such you may need to use binoculars and hand gestures across long range distances to solve puzzles. Within said situations your voice is proximity based, and certain puzzles will look to exploit this weakness.

Certain challenges will have you and your team intentionally splitting up in order to work together to solve larger goals, so always remember and practice using hand signals as a way of conveying certain phrases, or directions.

Finding Lost Players

The world of Big Walk is massive, and it can be extremely easy to lose your friends in deeply populated forests, or the occasional sandy beach. Our final tip before jumping in is to keep your eyes peeled for Flare Bases in the game.

Doing so will allow you to shoot a large smoke-filled flare into the sky for your group to see, which aids in your (hopefully) inevitable rescue later on. Not doing this means you'll have to make your way back to eachother through the power of friendship... Which doesn't always have great signal in such distressing times.

Conclusion

With the provided tips in mind, hopefully your time in Big Walk is much easier, and a little less scary! If this guide helped you out, be sure to keep up to date with all things Mobalytics for more Guides, News, Reviews & More!
