S-tier
Chanter
When it comes to the
Chanter, they are extremely oppressive. With serious damage output, good recovery skills, and frequent disruption, they are a menace to any PvP battlefield.
Chanters are strongest when it comes to group PvP, because it allows their buffs to get the most value. It also helps take the focus off of them directly, allowing them to focus less on keeping themselves alive and more on unloading their high-damage output onto the enemy.
They are weaker among other DPS classes for flat damage output, only because they are more of a jack-of-all-trades kind of class, rather than just flat damage. That can be mitigated, however, as Chanters do have a strong DPS output on Global servers if they specialize in straight damage builds.
Gladiator
The
Gladiator brings a lot to the table: Strong melee pressure, good recovery, lots of knockdowns, and other gap-closing tools. During combat, their kit is quite forgiving, giving them higher durability, which lets them survive an exchange that might force a caster class to disengage.
They are strongest in duels and smaller skirmishes with 1-2 targets, just because it allows them to stay stuck to their opponent.
The Gladiator is slightly weaker in large-scale PvP, only because ranged enemies can overwhelm them, and they don't have enough gap-closers to get on top of all of them.
Templar
The reason we've put
Templar in the S rank is due to their high-value defensive tools for themselves and their allies; They can isolate targets with taunts and pulls. (Great for snagging the enemy healer out of position!)
Templars are strongest in objective PvP and larger team fights, as they are able to reposition enemies essentially at their will.
They are slightly weaker in solo PvP scenarios, only due to kill pressure, but they still make for a tough opponent with their high survivability.
Cleric
The
Cleric provides a lot to any PvP encounter. With their high-value heals and cleansing ability, good defence support, anti-healing pressure, and resurrection, they are nothing short of a nuisance. That being said, the value of the Cleric in PvP varies more dramatically between different formats.
They are strongest in groups and larger-scale PvP scenarios, where they can heal/buff a party, as well as have some protection from their team to help peel any enemies off them.
The Cleric is definitely weaker in solo PvP due to kill pressure, but still has good survivability.
A-tier
Assassin
If you want exceptionally powerful positional damage and fast single-target burst, with anti-healing and cooldown disruption, look no further than the
Assassin.
This class is strongest in solo PvP and Abyss skirmishes, with their stealth allowing the Assassin to decide when most fights start.
However, the Assassin falls short of other classes when it comes to larger-scale PvP, as they are fragile when caught and lose positional advantage when several enemies can peel or reposition away from them.
Ranger
The
Ranger is the safest pick for PvP: You can keep distance with long-range engagement, and you have access to stealth mechanics and anti-healing skills. All of these allow for good pressure in PvP.
This class is strongest in Abyss-type combat and skirmishes, or in group PvP content where they can fire safely behind a front line.
With that, the Ranger is definitely weaker when it comes to solo combat, especially if they are caught off-guard or if an enemy is in point-blank range, as it renders their entire kit far less useful than it would at a distance.
Spiritmaster
The
Spiritmaster is a nuisance when it comes to PvP encounters, and we mean that for the enemies they are going up against. With their exceptional amounts of crowd control (Fear, Seal, buff removal), constant ranged pressure, and their spirits, they add an extra layer of chaos to any fight.
This class is definitely strongest when they are in group PvP combat, or even in larger-scale encounters. The amount of damage-over-time and debuffs they are able to apply to enemies is even more dangerous when they have a healer or a tank keeping them safe.
The Spiritmaster falls a bit short when dealing with solo encounters, though, as they have fewer immediate escape options if a melee opponent reaches them before they're able to set up their control.
Sorcerer
Sorcerer is a class that combines two things any player hates to go against in PvP: Heavy ranged burst damage and disruptive crowd control. Add to that, their ability to polymorph, slow, and perform other forms of crowd control, all at long range, makes for a strong contender for PvP.
This class excels in fights where the focus isn’t immediately on them; think large-scale Abyss content or groups. It allows them to pump out huge AoE damage without fear of being jumped and burst down.
With that said, the Sorcerer is definitely weaker in solo play or if they get ambushed. Their lower durability makes certain surprise engages almost impossible to survive. If you are able to survive, you may be able to crowd control your way back to a win if you’re skilled.
