  • Crazy AoE
  • Highest DPS
  • Requires Items to Feel Strong
  • Hard to make Tanky

Build Variants

This variant uses Fathomless instead of Pyrosis if you want to see bigger numbers (but do worse DPS) use the Mythic Variant Board.

Core Items and Requirements

  • Hands of the Worldbreaker is mandatory because it turns Apocalypse into a Sigil Skill and gives it an insane amount of damage.
  • Fleshwrit Carapace is not mandatory but will be a massive damage increase over any option we have available.
  • Having a combination of Undying Aspect and Aspect of Accursed Touch between Boots and Amulet is mandatory.
    • Undying Aspect as the Amulet Transfigurement is ideal.
    • Aspect of Accursed Touch is our only way to apply Vulnerable.
  • Spam Transfigure Cheap Weapons for Gem Strength.
    • The Grandfather with Gem Strength Transfiguration is better than Cremator's Aspect unless it also has Gem Strength.
    • As a general rule 0GA with correct affixes > 1+ GA with the wrong affixes
    • 0GA Good Transfiguration > 4GA Bad Transfiguration (Amulet and Gloves are the exception here)

Offensive Affix Priority

  1. Critical Strike Damage Multiplier
  2. Vulnerable Damage Multiplier
  3. Critical Hit Chance
  4. Attack Speed (not on Gloves/Amulet)
  5. All Damage/Fire Damage Multiplier (goes down to last if you have Gem Strength on your 2H)
  6. Willpower/Weapon Damage

Transfiguration Priority

  1. Gem Strength on 2H
    1. Highest priority by far to the point that it's worth spamming to try to get it .
  2. Gem Strength on an Armor piece
  3. High Item Quality on Amulet and Gloves
  4. Fire Damage or +4 All Skills
  5. Attack Speed/Critical Hit Chance
  6. Willpower
  7. All Stats

Talisman

Talisman Priority
+7

Unique Charms

  • Banished Lord's Talisman is the strongest Offensive Unique Charm
    • Can be replaced by Scepter of the Three.
    • Can be replaced by Rustbitten Dirk on Bosses.
  • Endurant Faith is the strongest Defensive Unique Charm.

Talisman Set

BerĂş of the Nameless is the dedicated Talisman Set for Sigils which we use perfectly because Hands of the Worldbreaker turns Apocalypse into a Sigil Skill.

Charm Affixes

  1. Occult/Hellfire Ranks
    • Occult is marginally better as it affects Nether Step.
  2. All Stats
  3. Maximum Life
  4. Lightning Res
  5. Fire Res

When using Signet of Pelghain, it is also very important you avoid other sources of Lucky Hit: CC.

The CC-type that procs Stagger on the boss is what determines what he is CCed by. If we don't Freeze to Stagger our Signet of Pelghain will do nothing!

We also don't use Ceh because Freeze procced from it also doesn't count as us Freezing.

Mythic Seal

Mythic Seals are useless for this build.

Seal Affix Priority

  1. +1 Charm
  2. Critical Strike Damage
  3. All Damage
  4. Sigil Damage
  5. % All Stats
  6. Critical Strike Chance/Attack Speed

Skill Rotation

  • Apocalypse is your main damage skill. Use it every time it’s off cooldown. We reset its cooldown with Umbral Chains because it hits several enemies at once.
  • Dark Prison is your main defensive skill. Cast it whenever it’s off cooldown, it prevents projectiles from reaching you.
  • Use Summon Vollach every 12 seconds (at least every 10 for safety) to proc your set bonuses.
  • Skills like Nether Step are mainly for extra mobility and evasion.
  • Use your sigils on cooldown, especially Sigil of Subversion will leave trail that hex enemies..
  • If you’re running the speed farm version and want more mobility, use Demonic Smash Rampage for movement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Damage, where does it come from?

Apocalypse becomes spammable with Annihilation Apocalypse by using other Hellfire skills that generate many persistent hits likeChain Whips Umbral Chains or Skull Splitter Blazing Scream. Every hit with a Hellfire Skill generates 1 Stack up to 100 Stacks, which increase Apocalypse's damage and size.

The decision to use Chain Whips Umbral Chains or Skull Splitter Blazing Scream comes down to what we're farming. Chain Whips Umbral Chains is much stronger on AoE and in general but Skull Splitter Blazing Scream is much stronger for Bossing. If we're going to go Bossing we should swap our points in Umbral Chains for Skull Splitter Blazing Scream, Cost Reduction Blazing Scream and Impact Velocity Blazing Scream.

Hands of the Worldbreaker turns Apocalypse into a Sigil Skill, meaning it benefits greatly from BerĂş of the Nameless and Fleshwrit Carapace.

We use theRitualist Shard in combination with Scorching Fragment to permanently Empower our Apocalypse and gain Multiplicative Damage per Overpower Stack.

  • Empower increases our Additive Damage by 50% + Volatility Damage
  • Scorching Fragment makes Volatility stack up to 3 while also giving us 10% Multiplicative Damage per stack.
    • The main downside of Scorching Fragment is the Life Cost it adds to our skills but we can counteract it by using Undying Aspect.
  • We can get upwards of 150%+ Volatility Damage which then gets multiplied by every stack.
  • Double Blast Apocalypse makes our Apocalypse deal double damage when Empowered.
  • Ritualist Shard provides 4% Multiplicative Damage per Overpower Stack.
    • Summon Vollach increases our Maximum Overpower Stacks and allows us to Overfill this by 2 to a total of 10 Stacks.
    • We can also get 70%+ Additive Overpower Damage per Stack.
    • Banished Lord's Talisman becomes an incredible damage option.

The Hemat Stone doubles the value of every single Ritualist Shard, Scorching Fragment and Summon Vollach buff which is ridiculous and ends up totaling a value of almost 300% more damage.

Although Scepter of the Three might seem very attractive as it gives us 15 Ranks and a 200% Multi, in practice, the Multi doesn't have enough uptime to be worth it.

Resource Management

Before getting Ring of Starless Skies, we must get as many Wrath Regeneration affixes on our gear as we can to be able to sustain our Chain Whips Umbral Chains spam on Bosses. Unbound supplements this. Wrath can also be included instead of Occultist for more Regen.

Defenses

Defensively, we must stack Maximum Life almost everywhere we can to survive. We also use Cir + Que to generate Barrier. We also use a 2H Weapon, despite it being less damage than 1H + OH, to be able to use Aspect of Heavenly Strength.

If you find you need even more survivability you can use a Endurant Faith charm instead of an offensive one like Banished Lord's Talisman.

The Grandfather can be used for more tankiness, moving Cremator's Aspect to Crushing Aspect's place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Fathomless over Pyrosis?

Pyrosis is worth more the closer you are to one shotting enemies. If you one shot an enemy it is worth [x]450% more damage, if you only deal 20% of the bosses' life after your first few Apocalypse, it is only worth around [x]20% more damage.

Because Survivor Damage Apocalypse exists, future Apocalypse casts after the first one will deal double damage, unless we way overgear the content we're doing we end up doing much less damage overall by taking Pyrosis.

With Fathomless we get to do [x]105% more damage the whole way through, including when Survivor Damage Apocalypse is active and we are doing [x]100% more.

How do I get Overpower?

Summon Vollach provides them.

Why am I Dying!?

You need to equip Undying Aspect to counteract Scorching Fragment.

How do I Make Enemies Vulnerable?

With Ceh, the Wolves apply Freeze and Vulnerable.

Aspect of Accursed Touch is another option that can be used.

How do I Know Which Stat to Focus on?

Attack Speed Breakpoints

Because the game's server operates in frames (images), Skills can only be cast in a whole number of frames. This means, for example, that you can't cast a Skill in 10.2 frames. To extend this example further, that means that all Attack Speed values that lead to a cast time of 10.01 to 10.99 frames would mean you end up casting at 11 frames, effectively wasting all Attack Speed gains from 11 frames to 10.01.

For that reason, it is important to reach the Attack Speed Breakpoint of a frame.

You might be wondering how frames translate into actual Cast Speed. Because the server runs at 60 frames per second, the way we translate frames into Cast Speed is with the formula: 60 / Frames = Casts per Second.
