Build Overview

Crackling Energy is the best all around sorcerer build for season 11. You will cast Ball Lightning purely as a generator of Crackling Energy with Wizard's Ball Lightning. These little blue blobs drop on the ground that your character can pick up by walking over, or from a small range with Convulsions. For each blob you grab, you get charges of Crackling Energy that appear above your skill bar. Your character will automatically emit these charges onto enemies as Lightning Damage.

Normally Crackling Energy deals little damage. However, when you stack your skill bar full of shock skills and equipEsadora's Overflowing Cameo, things get wild. Esadora's Overflowing Cameo ramps up your crackling energy damage and lets you rapidly discharge them. The build is in a constant state of discharging and picking up from Wizard's Ball Lightning. Also, don't worry about mana that much... once things get rolling Invigorating Conduit keeps you going!

In addition, Aspect of Charged Flash increases crackling damage and fires a crackling energy wave every time you create or cast Charged Bolts. This build never needs to cast Charged Bolts because we create them by casting Ball Lightning during Unstable Currents. Unstable Currents will create Charged Bolts and create Invoked Lightning Spear's that stun. Whenever we stun an enemy there is a 40% chance to create Charged Bolts. You can have up to 12 Lightning Spear's out at once, and that's a lot of stun action going on.

Lastly, the Overflowing Energy key passive will provide us with a ton of Lightning Damage and make our crackling energy hit more targets. It also does a wonderful job of making sure we have permanent uptime on Unstable Currents for Prime Unstable Currents.

Enchantments

  • Charged Bolts enchant grants a 40% chance to release Charged Bolts every time you stun an enemy. You crap out Crackling Energy waves with Aspect of Charged Flash
  • Lightning Spear enchant to guarantee we have max Invoked Lightning Spear's flying around to stun enemies for Charged Bolts enchant and Aspect of Charged Flash procs. It's a sight to see.

Free Orsivane Enchantments

  • Frost Nova enchant which makes Mystical Frost Nova's on Lucky Hits
  • Ice Armor enchant which provides Shimmering Ice Armor's when you potion
  • Flame Shield enchant which grants a Flame Shield when you take 30% health damage within 2 seconds. Then goes on cooldown for 30 seconds.
  • Teleport enchant for an evade Teleport on a 3.5 second cooldown that cannot be reduced further

  • Gravitational Aspect is for grouping enemies

  • On the Aspect of Shredding Blades focus, the Chance for Crackling Energy to hit additional targets does not work at all for Esadora's Overflowing Cameo's discharge, so just use a crackling energy damage offensive temper there

How it Plays

Pit Setup

  • Spam cast Wizard's Ball Lightning to make crackling energy to feed the machine
  • Cast Unstable Currents whenever it is off cooldown for Prime Unstable Currents and Supreme Unstable Currents. Overflowing Energy will reset it's cooldown very fast.
  • Charged Bolts, Chain Lightning, Lightning Spear, and Spark are never casted.
    • They are just bar space fillers to scale Esadora's Overflowing Cameo
  • Can press evade every 3.5 seconds for a Teleport evade thanks to Orsivane

Speed Setup

  • Spam cast Wizard's Ball Lightning to make crackling energy to feed the machine
  • Cast Unstable Currents whenever it is off cooldown for attack speed
  • Teleport around as fast as you can and Teleport evade

How it Works

General Overview: Pit Build

Esadora's Overflowing Cameo scales it's Crackling Energy damage off of the ranks of shock skills on your skill bar. So you want a full shock skill bar, and you want to get high ranks. This means slotting all the CORE skills and finding items with ranks to CORE.

Spam Wizard's Ball Lightning to make crackling and just go to town. Temerity gives you barrier from Life on Hit Affixes. It's basically a 3 button build with Ball Lightning, Unstable Currents, and Teleport evade.

General Overview: Speed Setup

The speed setup runs Godslayer Crown for pulls and Raiment of the Infinite for Teleport cooldown and pulls. It runs Teleport on the skill bar with Teleport evade for max movement.

You can run The Oculus if you want for MAX MOVEMENT, but I find it not that necessary

Godslayer Crown and Okun's Focus should be ran as long as possible

  • Godslayer Crown is amazing and provides damage and frequent pulls
  • Okun's Catalyst is the best feeling item in the game
    • With Teleport on the skill bar you can trigger the attack speed from Okun's Catalyst and giga cast Wizard's Ball Lightning and make a ton of Crackling
    • Slap on an Invigorating Conduit temper onto your Legendary Ring, pre Ring of Starless Skies, and you are bathing in Mana Regen
    • Invigorating Conduit is strictly better than a Resource Cost Reduction Temper as with just 5 ranks you gain 40 mana back on every Wizard's Ball Lightning cast, then use Lum to generate the rest (5 ranks x 4 mana per rank x 2 cracklings = 40)
    • Once you get Ring of Starless Skies, your Ball Lightning will cost 25 per cast and 3 ranks in Invigorating Conduit will yield 24 mana back per cast
  • You can honestly run Godslayer Crown and Okun's Catalyst with Teleport on the skill bar until Pit 90-95 and still do 3 minute clears, as long as you have Ring of Starless Skies and Shroud of False Death
  • Heir of Perdition and Aspect of Shredding Blades and taking Teleport off the skill bar are things you resort to ONLY when you reach a damage gate
  • Basically you can keep a Aspect of Shredding Blades focus on you, and just swap to it for special occasions like Bossing!

Scaling Esadora and Crackling Energy (Lord Zir Drop)

  • Esadora's Overflowing Cameo wants you to slap a bunch of shock skills on the skill bar and stack ranks to them.
  • This is why the builds run Charged Bolts and Chain Lightning on the skill bar despite never casting them.
  • The build uses Ball Lightning and Wizard's Ball Lightning to generate the crackling and then Esadora's Overflowing Cameo discharges it into enemies for big damage
  • Ranks to Core are very important because they provide ranks to Charged Bolts, Chain Lightning, and Ball Lightning to scale damage
  • You are looking at around 100+ Ranks on either Mythic setup which is 11x damage

Heir of Perdition vs Harlequin Crest

  • The Pit Setup runs Heir of Perdition because of core ranks, crit chance, and it's 60% damage
  • Ex. 105 ranks in Shock Skills with Heir of Perdition is 1050% (or 11.5x) damage...
    • Then 11.5x times 1.6x from Heir of Perdition is 18.4x damage + all the Crit Chance!
  • Ex. 115 ranks in Shock skills with Harlequin Crest is 1150% (or 12.5x) damage
  • Heir of Perdition wins

Free Enchantments from Orsivane (Varshaan Drop)

  • The free enchantments from Orsivane do NOT grant additional damage from Enchantment Master. This node only looks at your manually equipped enchantments.
  • Mystical Frost Nova enchant that procs off any Lucky hit for 15% damage
  • Ice Armor enchant = pop a potion for a 56% max life barrier and Mystical Ice Armor damage
  • Mystical Teleport enchant gives a teleport evade every 3.5 seconds with enchantment master
    • Tooltip will display 4 seconds after evading due to how the game rounds
  • Flame Shield enchant gives you some immunity frames when you take too much damage, which then goes on a 30 second cooldown

Bloodied Affixes (Seasonal)

  • Items can drop with a bloodied affix that procs when you are on killstreaks
  • There are 3 categories
    • Rampage (Armor): You want Primary Core Stat per killstreak tier to get more Intelligence
    • Feast (Weapons): You want Berserking for 4 seconds after 25 kills for 15% damage
    • Hunger (Jewelry): These are just QOL effects like more Experience or Rampage items, etc
