Build Overview

The Poison Trap Rogue Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4.

Poison Step is the main damage dealer of this build but Barrage is used as a Catalyst to proc the Lucky Hit Chance to deploy a Trap from Bursting Venoms. It plays very similar to Andy Barrage from Season 5.

Gear Requirements:

This build is basically unplayable without Aspect of Bursting Venoms, Scoundrels Leathers and Bands of Ichorous Rose.
You must have Traps Arm X Seconds Faster as Temper on Pants. Otherwise, Poison Trap does not spring fast enough to be repeatedly spawned by Bursting Venoms
You also must have Poison Imbue Lasts for +X Casts on Boots.
No Starter variant due to the high gear requirements.

You want to temper Poison Trap Duration to increase the damage Poison Trap deals with Bands of Ichorous Rose.
You need to stack Attack Speed and some Lucky Hit Chance to allow Barrage to proc Bursting Venoms to get your Poison Traps out.
Your Defense is handled by Umbrous Aspect and Second Wind
You need to allocate Affixes for Energy Management, such as Lucky Hit: Chance to Restore %Energy on Weapons.
Mythic Priority: Heir > Starless
Unique Priority: Scoundrels Leathers > Bands of Ichorous Rose

Traps arm X seconds faster temper on Pants is obligatory to have. Otherwise, Poison Trap does not spring fast enough to be repeatedly spawned by Bursting Venoms

You also must have +Poison Imbue Charges on Boots.

How it Plays

Activate Shadow Clone

If you hit an enemy with Clone, it will activate Close Quarters Combat (CQC).

Drop Caltrops on Elites and Bosses.
Dash to traverse the maps and activate CQC.
Imbue yourself with Poison Imbuement.

Scoring Lucky Hits will reduce its Cooldown. Cast it again once it is ready.

Spam Barrage as long as there are enemies alive.

This will proc Bursting Venoms and consume a lot of Energy. So stop spamming when there are no enemies around to regain it via Innervate and Lucky Hit: Chance to Restore Energy.

Repeat.

How it Works

Dark Shroud Damage Reduction Scaling

Dark Shroud

Dark Shroud is used passively through the Umbrous Aspect and therefore does not need to be placed on our Skill Bar. Dark Shroud is an insanely powerful defensive skill because of its parabolic scaling. This means that it gets stronger the more we invest in it.

Level 1 Dark Shroud provides 40% DR at 5 stacks.
Level 5 Dark Shroud provides 48% DR at 5 stacks. 1 - (1-48%)/(1-40%) = 13.33% effective DR increase.
Level 15 Dark Shroud provides 68% DR at 5 stacks. 1 - (1-68%)/(1-48%) = 39.5% effective DR increase.
Level 19 Dark Shroud provides 76% DR at 5 stacks. 1 - (1-76%)/(1-68%) = 25% effective DR increase.
