Build Overview

The Clash Paladin Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4 Season 14.

We use Clash with Seize Them and Fortress Resolve Damage Bonus Fortress to get massive scaling from Resolve Stacks.

Berú of Righteous Will is used in combination with Resolve Damage Bonus Fortress and Sentinel to get an insane amount of damage from Resolve stacking.

  1. Cast Fortress for the damage buff Resolve Damage Bonus Fortress provides.
    1. Also gets your Resolve up for Aspect of Glynn's Anvil.
  2. Use Holy Light Aura, Fanaticism Aura and Defiance Aura for their buffs and to lower Cooldowns with Resplendence Glyph.
    1. Very important to maintain high Fortress uptime.
  3. Cast Consecration for more Healing and Damage.
  4. Spam Clash for Damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I do damage?

The Clash Paladin gets an incredible amount of damage through Seize Them and Resolve Damage Bonus Fortress.

Rampart of Thorns is used even though we have no Thorns damage because it is the variant with the longest duration allowing us to keep 100% uptime. For Speedfarming we use Barricade instead to move it.

Another huge source of Damage is Aspect of Redirected Force, which gives [x]180% Damage on our Amulet. The way we get enough Block Chance to make it shine is by using Aspect of Interdiction.

How do I sustain my Faith?

Before we get a high enough uptime on Free Cast Fortress, we can equip a Ring of Starless Skies to solve our Resource issues. Otherwise, we need a lot of Faith per Second on Gear and Lucky Hit: Chance to Restore Resource Tempering Affixes and Faith Generation Clash.

I completed all the Paragon Points what do I do now?

  • Move on to the next Variant
    • Example: Endgame -> Mythic Speedfarm

How do we apply Vulnerable?

By casting Condemn with Gather the Guilty.

How are we getting Fortified?

  • Fortify Consecration gives us Fortify.

Why are we using Ruby, Topaz & Emerald instead of Diamond in Jewelry?

  • Fire, Lightning and Poison are the most common incoming damage types. They are also massively overtuned in how much damage they currently deal. Cold and especially Shadow are extremely rare and more in line. We try to resist the common ones with their dedicated Gems, massively increasing our overall survivablity. Diamonds only provide +250 Resistance to all Elements, where as dedicated Gems provide +1750 to their given Resistance instead.
  • "But what about Physical Resistance?"
    • Phyiscal damage is not nearly as overtuned as the other problematic damage types and does not require tweaking the gems to Skulls to hedge against it.
    • Also, Phyiscal damage can be blocked, where as e.g. Poison puddles on the ground can not.
