When it comes to sacrificing the Golem if you wanted to for more survivability/ a bit less damage you could instead use the blood golem with the option for the golem to take 30% of your incoming damage, also if you want to drop reap on your action bar (losing 8% more damage) and take blood mist for better survivability its up to you but for pit pushing I would say to leave reap.

How it Plays
This is my suggestion for maximum damage while playing the build -
1) Group enemies together with corpse tendrils
2) Cast your Soulrift Ultimate Skill for more damage
3) Remember to constantly be casting raise skeleton for a nice damage boost/to proc flesh eater
4) Also use bone prison around grouped up enemies for a damage boost/vulnerable application
5) Use Blight in pools of enemies to give us yet another damage multiplier
6) Rinse and Repeat
