Bonespear

Bone Spear is an explosive ranged build that controls the battlefield while dealing massive damage due to high Critical Strike and Max Essence damage scaling. Its an easy build to learn, but has a depth that makes it fun to master.

1. Cast Decrepify to Slow and Weaken your enemies
2. Use Corpse Tendrils as much as possible
3. Activate Bone Storm, making sure you eat corpses to increase the duration.
4. Spam Bone Spear making sure to keep your Essence above 70%
5. Use Bone Splinters to generate Essence when needed

If you're looking for a Necro build that is powerful in all forms of content, Bone Spear is the way to go. Whether you are doing speeds, pushing high Nightmare dungeons, or fighting Uber Bossrs, this is the build to go with.

Bone Spear is known for its variety of significant attributes:

• Max Essence Damage: The core feature of any Bone build is the ability to increase damage output based on Max Essence. This is largely from the Key Passive: Ossified Essence.
• Critical Strike Proficiency: This build has access to massive Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage. You can easily get to 100% Crit Chance, and you can also huge Critical Strike Damage from Paragon, Gear, and Aspects.
• Vulnerability Debuff: Because of the Splintering Aspect it is very easy for this build to get 100% uptime on Vulnerable on all enemies, which is a massive damage multiplier.

While all of these damage buckets are not as powerful as they once were, it is still a large amount of damage.

Bone Storm and Cooldown Management

It's very important to get high uptime on Bone Storm for its added damage but more importantly the incredible amount of survivability it gives. To make sure Bone Storm is up as much as possible we get Cooldown from several places. For starters we definitely want Cooldown Reduction on our Amulet and Helm. We also use Abhorrent Decrepify to reduce the Cooldown on Bone Storm each time we hit an enemy.

To better the uptime on Bone Storm we're also running the Lidless Wall which will cause us to spawn Bone Storm when hitting enemies.

Shotgunning: Getting the most value out of Bone Shards

Bone Shards represent a very high percentage of this builds overall damage, and its very important to hit your primary target with as many Bone Shards as possible with each cast of Bone Spear. Because Shards break off into a cone, if we break the Bone Spear right behind our main target they will get hit by all 5 Bone Shards. There are two condition in which Spears break: if they reach their maximum range or if they hit a wall. Its a bit weird to get used to, but if you get used to taking advantage of these mechanics you can burst down enemies much more reliably.

Construct

We are looking to use the Construct primarily to generate essence and give us a massive damage buff.

Changes for Bossing

When bossing run Blood Moon Breeches on your legs and swap your weapon to a 2h with Serration.

Uber Setup

Once you get your Uber Uniques you'll want to swap your helm for Harlequin Crest, your Exposed Flesh for Starless Sky, and your weapon for Grandfather.
