  • How it Plays

    1. Always keep up Decrepify on all enemies
    2. Engage with Bone Storm and then Blood Mist
    3. Use Reap as soon as Blood Mist ends
    4. Use Blood Mist on cooldown

    How it Works

This Corpse Explosion build is all about pushing hard Nightmare Dungeons by being nearly permanently immune to damage while being able to deal enough damage to clear the dungeon. The ability to deal damage while invincible comes from Blood Mist paired with the Aspect of Explosive Mist. Blood Mist makes you completely immune while being able to move, and this Aspect causes your Blood Mist to cast Corpse Explosion during its duration. This Corpse Explosion benefits from all of your Corpse Explosion effects, and also reduces the Cooldown on Blood Mist for each corpse it explodes. This pairs with Cooldown Reduction on our Offhand, Helm, and Amulet to significantly reduce the Cooldown on Blood Mist. We get even more Cooldown from Decrepify, as the Abhorrent Enhancement allows us to reduce our Cooldowns whenever we hit an enemy effected by Decrepify.

    Corpse Explosion

There are two important things to know about Corpse Explosion. The first is that when you turn it into a Damage Over Time effect it can no longer Crit, which significantly reduces the value of Crit in this build. Keep in mind that Crit still has a small amount of value in this build because the Key Passive Shadowblight can Crit.

The second thing you need to know is that each Corpse Explosion Area of Effect stacks into one massive tick of damage. So stacking Corpse Explosions won't increase the frequency of damage, but it will still give you the correct amount of damage increase. This is particularly important for the Key Passive as multiple instances of Corpse Explosion won't stack Shadowblight faster.

    Bone Storm

A huge amount of our tankiness is coming from the Aspect of Shielding Storm and the Aspect of Ultimate Shadow. This combination allows for huge damage from Shadowblight while also generating massive amounts of shielding. The shield generation from this setup is absurd, allowing you to easily tank nightmare 100 dungeons.

    Shadowblight

There are a lot of multiplier that affect Shadowblight damage but not Corpse Explosion damage. This creates a difficult position because we need Shadowblight to kill bosses and we need Corpse Explosion to clear AOE quickly. A good example of this is that Shadowblight can crit but Corpse Explosion can't crit. This creates a weird situation where we need to balance out our damage profiles to be able to kill bosses but also clear AOE easily. In the end we end up shifting very heavily to pure Corpse Explosion

    Construct

We are using the Construct to try and fill out this builds weaknesses. We're getting Vulnerable and bonus damage from Gyrate, and we're using Tempest to pull in enemies so that we can easily stack them in our Corpse Explosions

    Unique Replacements

Replace Godslayer with Aspect of Might, Howl From Below with Grasping Veins, and Black River with Aspect of Decay.

Why No X'fal's or Aspect of Decay?

Both of these Aspects are great in their own right, but they do not scale with Corpse Explosion damage. Because of the power of Black River, it is actually much better to fully invest into Corpse Explosion itself, rather than these other damage modifiers.

    Season 3 Changes

This build received serious nerfs going into season 3, losing tons of damage and Lucky Hit. The changes however don't really change our set up, and this build should still still be able to smash Nightmare 100. The main issue this build will have is its single target as it lost access to a 60% damage multiplier and 100% uptime on vulnerable from Vampiric Powers. All that being said this build should still be a solid and able to clear everything in the game.
