Build Overview

Charged Bolts has become one of the most powerful builds in the game. Able to clear a Pit 150 and still has a very strong speed farm variant.

The short version is that we are using the same engine as other lightning sorc builds by combining Boundless Unstable Currents and Aspect of Overwhelming Currents to create an exponential ramping multiplier capable of one shotting anything in T12.

It's base core functionality combines Ferocious Aspect, Ferocity Unstable Currents, Surging Charge Charged Bolts to allow us to cast 21 charged bolts for every cast. This creates a "Shotgunning" technique that allows us to have incredible close range burst.

For our speed farming variant, we can utilize the new permanent teleport mechanic of Prismatic Familiar Familiar x Bonus Effect Familiar in combination with El'druin, Sword of Justice.

For our pushing variant, we will be utilizing a 1H + OH combination of Aspect of Armageddon and Aspect of Elemental Constellation do deal massive damage.

This variant of the build is designed to create consistency in helping with all ACTIVITIES.

It is designed in such a way as to not require strenuous effort on your hands, have smooth gameplay flow, mobility, and survivability.

Build Variants and Requirements

  1. 90% Critical Hit Chance
  2. Esu's Heirloom
    1. Best = Wearing Esu's Heirloom with Godslayer Crown in talisman and Aspect of Shredding Blades on Amulet from Cube adding +affix on Amulet.
    2. Still strong = Wearing Aspect of Shredding Blades and Esu's Heirloom in talisman if you DO NOT have a Aspect of Shredding Blades to put on Amulet.
  3. El'druin, Sword of Justice (Needed to reset cooldown of Wormhole Teleport)
  4. Heir of Perdition or Harlequin Crest (Perdition is best, but Harlequin is Tankier)
  5. Ring of Starless Skies Every single stat is utilized and needed for build.
  6. +10 Ranks to Shock Skills from Gear + BerĂº of the Threefold Set

Enchantments

Enchantment 1

We will be running Charged Bolts Enchantment to passively cast Charged Bolts at targets everywhere from our Reverse Polarity Lightning Spear stunning everything consistently.

Enchantment 2

We will be running Teleport Enchantment due to the fact that we can't reduce the cooldown of our Wormhole Teleport from 9 seconds to 0 without killing an elite due to El'druin, Sword of Justice.

Therefore, we need to GET TO THE ELITE without the El'druin, Sword of Justice Buff active. To do this we run Maximum Evade Stacks in Esu's Heirloom with the Teleport Enchantment to give us about +10 free teleports to find an elite and kill it, therefore activating our permanent teleport power.

We take attack speed temper in Focus not because we need it, but because in the Pushing Variant of this build, we WILL NEED IT to hit the Charged Bolts Attack Speed Breakpoint. Unless you have an extra focus, then you can roll Critical Hit Chance instead for the temper.

BerĂº of the Threefold Set is really strong when combine with Frigid Hydra Hydra due to it's ability to proc 2 elements at once giving us amazing damage.

We also get damage reduction through + All Resistances.


Godslayer Crown will allow us to pull things together during our Teleport adventures and shotgun them easily.

Skills

Charged Bolts

  • Movement Speed Charged Bolts Increases bolt speed and movement speed to multiply Esu's Heirloom
  • Damage Bonus Charged Bolts More damage
  • Surging Charge Charged Bolts This is what allows us to cast an additional 15 bolts due to us being able to obtain 15 stacks of ferocity through Ferocious Aspect and Ferocity Unstable Currents.

Chain Lightning 1/15 Points: Crackling Energy Generator

  • Additional Chains Chain Lightning More chains = more crackling energy
  • Critical Strike Chance Chain Lightning Generates our Crackling Energies to synergize with Boundless Unstable Currents
  • Chain Whipping Chain Lightning Faster cast and double the amount of crackling energy by allowing it to double the chains.

Teleport 1/15 Points: Utility Spell, Extra Point stun a little longer, but not enough to devote + points into

  • Ferocity Teleport Attacking faster means faster rotations and smoother gameplay
  • Weaken Teleport Allows us to be more tanky
  • Wormhole Teleport Combined with El'druin, Sword of Justice and Bonus Effect Familiar, we will be able to permanently teleport

Ice Armor 15/15 Points: Makes you invincible due to armor effecting general damage reduction rather than just Physical Damage.

  • Cooldown Reduction Ice Armor Smaller Cooldown means its up more often
  • Duration Bonus and Barrier Ice Armor Longer uptime and more armor
  • Permafrost Ice Armor unstoppable means we cannot be crowd controlled + even more armor

Hydra 1/15 Points: Applies CDR for Boundless Unstable Currents and double stack generation for BerĂº of the Threefold

  • Cooldown Reduction Hydra Reduces cooldowns of abilities. The more targets hit, the more cdr generated
  • Frigid Hydra Hydra Applies 2 stacks of Fer of the Threefold for very fast damage ramp

Familiar 1/15 Points: Utility Spell

  • Bonus Effect Familiar - What gives us the ability to permanently teleport by overriding Wormhole Teleport's Internal Cooldown.
  • Prismatic Familiar Familiar - Any spell cast will trigger the Bonus Effect Familiar effect
  • Charge Familiar - Extra charges is good for when you start an instance trying to find the elite.

Lightning Spear 15/15 Points: Massive AoE Damage

  • Projectile Speed Lightning Spear Faster Spears = everything on screen dies faster
  • Damage Bonus Lightning Spear More Damage, Speed farm = one tap things
  • Reverse Polarity Lightning Spear Stuns the target

Ball Lightning 1/15 Points: Utility Spell - Automatically casted due to Unstable Currents.

  • Multiple Projectiles Ball Lightning More balls = More Passive Damage and crits for Aspect of Overwhelming Currents
  • Orbital Ball Lightning Allows the dissipation of ball lightning to be at our feet for easy crackling energy pick up
  • Crackling Energy Ball Lightning More crackling energy for Boundless Unstable Currents

Unstable Currents 15/15 Points: Massive DPS Increase

  • Ferocity Unstable Currents More ferocity stacks synergize with Surging Charge Charged Bolts
  • Damage Bonus Unstable Currents More Damage
  • Boundless Unstable Currents Most busted ability in sorc's kit at the moment

Paragon Board

NOTE: This Priority list is assuming all glyphs are already level 25 for their secondary effect. Therefore the focus is on the bonus of the first effect increasing as you level up the glyph.

1. Elementalist is the best and most powerful glyph for us as it increases the additive damage from the rare nodes by such a large amount, which become a separate additive conditional multiplier for our damage.

2. Tactician, We kill things to fast for all the Reverse Polarity Lightning Spear to hit our targets, we now just need a flat damage multiplier to burst through faster.

3. Exploit is a standard damage multiplier effecting all of our damage. Because we are wearing Aspect of Shredding Blades, everything will be vulnerable.

4. Destruction We do crit Damage so, only crit Gylph

5. Charged Easy 15%[x] and +10%[x] multipliers for decent damage. The additive damage given by node does nothing for us.

Mercenary

Subo: Map hacks are over powered. Also increases our Crit Damage for us

Aldkin: Gives damage reduction, we are sorcs and therefore we are squishy. Any amount helps.

How it Plays

Speed Farm Variant:

Surging Charge Charged Bolts x Ferocious Aspect x Ferocity Unstable Currents will cast 21 charged bolts every cast.

The high amounts of crits generated from Charged Bolts also plays into Aspect of Overwhelming Currents allowing a massive ramping damage cycle. But make no mistake, our Lightning Spear hits hard into the Hundreds of Billions to one shot the stragglers on the outside.

Charged Bolts Enchantment will passively cast more Charged Bolts at targets everywhere from our Reverse Polarity Lightning Spear stunning everything consistently as well as our Wyward's Aspect helping stun things as well.

Opening Skill Rotation (Find the Elite Mini-Game)

  1. Cast Unstable Currents
  2. Cast Familiar x4 to have Prismatic Familiar Familiar x Bonus Effect Familiar ready to reduce cooldowns.
  3. Cast Wormhole Teleport and Evade Teleport until elite found.
  4. Cast Hydra into a pack to gain stacks of BerĂº of the Threefold
  5. Cast Charged Bolts to start generating stacks for Boundless Unstable Currents and blow up the elite pack.

Standard Rotation (Speed allows for speed)

  1. Cast Wormhole Teleport until a big pack or elite pack found
  2. Cast Charged Bolts to blow the pack up
  3. Cast Hydra from time to time to keep up stacks of BerĂº of the Threefold
  4. Cast Familiar Once every ~6 seconds to keep up the permanent teleport ability
  5. Repeat
  • Cast Ice Armor continuously to stay defensive

Pushing Variant

Surging Charge Charged Bolts x Ferocious Aspect x Ferocity Unstable Currents will cast 21 charged bolts every cast.

The high amounts of crits generated from Charged Bolts also plays into Aspect of Overwhelming Currents allowing a massive ramping damage cycle. But make no mistake, our Lightning Spear hits hard into the Hundreds of Billions to one shot the stragglers on the outside.

Ball Lightning Enchantment will be cast incredibly often due to the sheer number of crits generated from the build, allowing for an atrocious amount of ball lightnings to be stacked in one area and explode the pack in combination with Azurewrath quadratic multiplier.

Standard Rotation (Speed allows for speed)

  1. Cast Boundless Unstable Currents to start big damage ramp
  2. Cast Blaze Teleport until a big pack or elite pack found
  3. Cast Hydra from time to time to keep up stacks of BerĂº of the Threefold
  4. Cast Charged Bolts to blow the pack up
  5. Repeat
  • Cast Ice Armor/ Flame Shield continuously to stay defensive
