Overview

This build was created by Y4mz. To find this build in game, search for "Mobalytics - Gun Ivy (Farming Hypercarry) by y4mz" (BuildID: 334444)

Ivy is currently the premier gun carry hero in competitive matches, scrims, and pubs thanks to the following traits: amazing jungle/wave clear with Kudzu Bomb, strong innate defensive options (Stone Form i-frames, Watcher's Covenant movement speed, Air Drop escapes), smothering global and side lane presence from Air Drop, and one of the strongest gun steroids in Watcher's Covenant. In this build we’re looking to amplify those advantages while also rounding out some weaknesses in the early game through wave clear.

Early Game

  • Start with Kudzu Bomb and use it on at least two of the minions in the first wave (normal cast is very helpful for this), and each subsequent wave, then use the infinite ammo from sliding (Dash then crouch with the speed) to quickly kill the entire wave.
  • Alternatively, if they let you, throw a Kudzu Bomb at the top of the enemy stairs as the creeps approach to hit 3 or 4 of them, allowing you to decimate enemy waves.
  • Do not let the enemy creeps get to your tower or you will be punished heavily due to your lack of effective long-range poke options.
  • We are using our strong wave clear to effectively neutralize our weakest point throughout the game, allowing Ivy to very consistently come online later.
  • In harder lanes where you’re taking a lot of poke, it’s sometimes advantageous to take the 1 point upgrade in Stone Form for the reduced cooldown, be sure you’re using the invulnerability portion of the ability to avoid enemy damage.

Mid Game

  • We are looking to pick up Cultist Sacrifice around 8 minutes, this is when the T3 Neutral monsters spawn and we will try to use the proc on T3 neutrals whenever possible.
  • If possible we want to spend the majority of our time running between the nearest sidelane tower and the jungle, vacuuming up as many souls as possible to establish a big networth lead. Networth in Deadlock is effectively levels AND gold when compared to any other MOBA, allowing us to really bully people with less.
  • Tesla Bullets and Fleetfoot are massive powerspikes that, in combination with 2 point Watcher's Covenant allow us to deal meaningful damage and stay on top of enemies with more high-impulse movement abilities. We are now able to effectively bully enemies on lower networth than us in the sidelane and escape or rotate with Stone Form and Air Drop (Don’t forget to save your partner if you’re pushing the sidelane as two).

Late Game

  • We pick up Capacitor and now we have a massive damage increase as well as the ability to purge buffs like Metal Skin, Seven's Power Surge, AbramsSiphon Life, Viscous' The Cube, and more. No other hero should be close on networth at this point if you were bouncing back and forth between lane and jungle effectively, which means you can now start tearing down enemy Walkers and looking to take the Mid Boss to end the game.
  • Look to bully enemy heroes who are alone in side lanes, then rotate to teamfights or escape with Air Drop, you should be able to create a ton of space or pull multiple enemies who may not even be able to kill you. Your HP pool is very deceptive between Stone Form and eventually Siphon Bullets, making 1vX fights very possible.
  • Run them down. Seriously, you should be that much stronger.
