How to Unlock the Legendary Super Soldier Energy Shield

Overview

The Super Soldier is a legendary shield which provides you with a number of different bonuses while it is full:

  • 25% Increased Fire Rate
  • 25% Increased Movement Speed
  • Regen 1 Ammo/s

It will also provide Overshield when it fills to help you sustain these great bonuses for longer.

How to Unlock

Unlock Location:

  • Progress through the story until you've complete the quest His Vile Sanctum
  • The quest is tied to the Terminus Range story

Super Soldier unlock location Umbral Foundry

Farm Method:

  • Travel to Umbral Foundry located in the north of Terminus Range
  • Make your way to the boss arena at the end of the area
  • Use the Encore Machine nearby to reset the fight
  • Repeatedly defeat Vile Lictor until the Super Soldier drops

Notes

The Super Soldier's bonuses give it plenty of options to slot into builds.

  • The 25% Fire Rate increase boosts DPS by itself
  • The 25% Movement Speed increase synergizes with the Bullet Train specialization skill to provide more gun damage the faster you move
  • The ammo regen extends the life of every magazine, perfect for increasing playtime with Heavy Weapon Ordnance

Because these effects are only active when it's full, increases to Shield Recharge Rate and decreases to Shield Recharge Delay can help to keep it at max capacity more often.
